Me when I’m reader a x luffy fic and the writer genuinely makes him so fucking stupid that it feels like the reader is taking advantage of him. It just makes me so mad I can’t even fully explain it.
Like we knoooowwww he’s a bit aloof but why the hell would I want to have sex with someone who doesn’t even know what sex really is? And I’ll be clear here— I understand that some people write their readers to be morally questionable but this is simply not the case when it comes to these fics.
Luffy probably has more than a couple screws loose but he’s not genuinely stupid and incapable of understanding mature topics. It’s not cute to have a grown ass man acting like a child when you’re putting him in a sexual context.
Idk if I’m the only person who feels this way but it’s so disgusting eugh
#imma just stick to the writers who know how to write sunshiney characters without making them act like uwu baby toddlers#𐌕𐌉𐌊𐌉 ᯓᡣ𐭩#personal blah blah#one piece x male reader#one piece x reader#monkey d. luffy#luffy x reader#monkey d luffy x reader#monkey d luffy x male reader#monkey d. luffy x male reader#luffy x male reader

cw: hurt/comfort. reader is part of the straw hat crew and in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Perhaps it shouldn’t have taken up to this moment to realize how deep Luffy’s feelings run for you, but in the split second where he hears the sound of your scream - a cry not truly meant for help more than surprise - and freezes in the midst of a battle, this fact is made crystal clear, enough so that concern in his eyes seems to suspend any other thought in your mind. You barely hear Zoro’s angered yell at him to concentrate, and barely notice Chopper in Kung Fu point has thrown you over his shoulder and is heading away from the fray, putting distance between the two of you and mortal danger, as fast as he can. Even the pain in your twisted ankle seems to fade to nothing as all your attention condenses to one point, to the man who is slowly becoming smaller in your vision as you gain distance, who would have turned to save you if Chopper hadn’t gotten to you first, losing his footing on crumbling rock and sinking off the side of a cliff.
You watch Sanji dive after him, your heart thumping hard in your chest, but you trust him, and most importantly, Chopper is not letting go.
—
“What the fuck is wrong with you?”
Zoro has yelled at you exactly zero times since you’ve joined the crew. At most, he’s been a little less enthusiastic at your jokes, and he’s generally quite patient with you, even offering to say to you once that he appreciates the fact that in some ways you “even” your captain out. He trusts your skill and usually trusts your judgment when it comes to you bringing ideas to the crew.
Which is why this moment is so particularly uncomfortable for you.
Because the fact of the matter is he’s right to be upset.
The crew has gathered up to a meeting point and is alive, thankfully, after a skirmish with a group of enemy pirates that proved a little harder to shake off despite the emperor-level strength of your crew. Luffy is sprawled out on his back on a patch of grass, and is almost fast asleep from weariness, and Zoro, while weary, is still standing before the group, with energy enough to directly confront you.
Your simple presence in the wrong place at the wrong time could have made this turn out very differently, and all because Luffy took a moment to worry about your safety.
“You had literally one job, and it was to stay the fuck out of the way. Why did you show up despite a direct order?”
“I was wor-”
“You were a distraction,” he cuts you off immediately. Your mouth opens up instinctively in protest, then closes without a sound. He’s right. You saw it, just as well as he did, maybe even better - the instant deviation in Luffy’s attention to the draw of the sound of your voice.
Chopper freezes as he finishes tying off the roll of bandage he’s wrapping around Sanji’s left arm, and Sanji, cigarette in his free hand, shakes his head.
“Lay off of her, it’s not that big a deal.”
“Shut up, cook.” Zoro replies immediately. Sanji moves to get up and physically respond, but Chopper gives him a look and he stills begrudgingly, a contained grimace on his features. Robin watches the look in Zoro’s expression carefully, but says nothing, still measuring her words.
“I didn’t mean to,” you murmur under your breath. “I’m sorry.”
Usopp tries to laugh to dispel the tension, a shaky “Hey guys, at least we’re still alive!” coming from his lips, but his half-hearted tone echoes even louder with the solemnity of the rest of the crew.
Zoro is still angry and you are still apologetic. Franky, deciding he wants no part of this kind of tension, has started to prepare Sunny for the next leg of your journey and Brook and Jinbe similarly come to the conclusion that there is nothing else to discuss, making their way to the ship. Nami sits by your side in uncharacteristically quiet solidarity.
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t fucking mean to, what matters is Luffy messed up because of you -”
“Stop it.”
Luffy’s eyes haven’t opened yet, nor has he moved, but his voice is serious enough that it’s clear that he’s heard enough.
“Whatever else you want to be mad about, just take it out on me.”
The “captain” voice. Final. Luffy shifts just enough to cover his face with his hat, himself uninterested with this conversation further, and guilt settles deep into your bones when you realize you might actually be getting away with being a nuisance.
He’s making it worse, you think, confirmed when Zoro glares at you, then glares back at him, then with obvious frustration storms off, hand on the hilt of his sword. You bite the inside of your cheek as you watch him go, your stomach turning in your belly.
Nami squeezes your hand gently and it feels just like the squeeze in your chest when Luffy, exhausted, falls right back asleep.
—
Zoro keeps his distance from you for the rest of the evening, and while you’re not exactly sure he’s really just written you off, your attempts to go clear things over feel premature, so instead of risking aggravating him further with a poorly prepared apology, you head over to the infirmary where Luffy is still resting after you’ve had dinner.
No one else is around when you slip in, but as soon as you pass the threshold, Luffy sits up. Ten to fifteen cleared bowls appear haphazardly set on the table next to him which bring a small smile to your lips. You’ve given him a little bit of freedom from your presence as well, instead of curling up beside him, a little hesitant now of taking up that space. Too much space.
He doesn’t seem to understand that as your goal, his arm extending to tug on your sleeve almost childishly when you choose to sit on a chair instead of the bed beside him.
“What’s wrong?” he asks.
He’s the one who’s banged up and yet he’s asking you why you’re unable to hide the furrow of your eyebrows.
“Nothing,” you say, reflexively knowing fully well he’d never fall for that lie. Instead, you pull up your knees to your chest and sigh.
“Luffy, don’t worry so much about me.”
“What do you mean? I don’t worry about you.”
You blink at his response, but he appears completely straightforward.
“You just asked me what’s wrong?”
“That’s not worrying, that’s asking a question. I want to know the answer,” he says. He reaches over and tugs again at your sleeve twice as if ringing a bell. You try to ignore it. Letting out a sigh, you perseverate.
“I mean earlier today. Zoro got mad because you worried about me. During the fight. You could have gotten hurt, and the crew hurt too.”
Luffy doesn’t say anything immediately, but his hand starts to coil around your arm like a snake and you say nothing, waiting to see exactly how far he’ll go with this. The length stops short of your shoulder for a moment, and you find yourselves in a sort of stare-off. You don’t move, and neither does he.
“I know,” he finally says.
His hand uncoils slightly and pulls back to his side. Cross-legged now on the bed, he rests his hand in his lap.
“Just to be clear, I don’t regret it even if I have to be more careful next time.”
Your arms cross over your chest, not in defiance but for comfort.
“Well you should. You’re a captain, not just someone I…” you let the word trail off, your face warming. “Anyway the point is, don’t treat me differently.”
“But you are different.”
Your eyes widen. “Weaker, you mean?”
Your voice is curt but he shrugs. “Not that much more than Nami… but that’s not the point.” He shifts, and one last gentle tug on your sleeve has you finally choose to get up and slip into the space beside him on the cot.
“After we find the One Piece, I still want you to stay with me.”
“Luffy…”
“I’m not saying I wouldn’t want everyone else to stay like this forever too… I just would understand if they want to leave and live their own lives,” he admits. It’s heavy and full of emotion even if Luffy doesn’t display it on the surface, you can feel it weighing onto your skin. Your head lowers slowly until you’re resting your head on his shoulder, and his fingers interlace with yours.
“I think it would hurt me the most if you didn’t stay. So yes, you’re different.”
“I don’t think you can have a favorite as a captain,” you say softly.
“Then you’re my favorite as Luffy,” he says, which makes you laugh but also tear up. And yet, he still hasn’t addressed the matter at hand.
“You still can’t put others at risk because of me,” you remind him. “No matter what, I’m also capable and you need to trust me the same way you’d trust everyone else.”
He takes a deep breath, then squeezes your hand.
“Yes. But you’re not going to convince me to care about you any less.”
You look at him for clarification, and he continues.
“I told Zoro when he came by here earlier that I’ll look if you scream. Every time.”
Your heart skips a beat.
“Luffy, you can’t just-”
“Every time,” he repeats, definitively, and you grimace, knowing that you really will never change his mind.
However, he’s not done.
“But I will trust you. And focus better. So that I don’t slip up and that no one falls, and most importantly-” he pauses, then smiles at you, before kissing your forehead, “- you don’t apologize to anyone ever again.”
His arm snakes around your waist and pulls you even closer and you’re compelled to bury your face into his chest, hugging him close. He’s real, he’s silly and difficult to reason with, and he’s yours.
“I have the right to apologize,” you say, muffled into his skin.
“Not for me loving you.”
You pause, letting his words sink in carefully.
“So what you’re saying is I need to stay out of the way or you’ll lose focus?”
He frowns, peeling you gently off of him so he can look you in the eyes.
“What I’m saying is it’s not your fault if I lose a fight. Ever. And that you’re too important for me to not look. But I’ll be better at choosing when.”
Your heart squeezes yet again, but in a good way.
“I’ll make sure you don’t have to choose either.”
He grins, and lets you cuddle close to him, his favorite way to heal.

❦ one piece men as hosts !
with: ace, sabo, luffy, zoro, sanji, and gn!reader
synopsis: one piece host!au headcanons where your favorite men try their hand in stealing your heart ! ❤︎
note: instead of saying madam/sir, i just left it as [term] so you can pick for yourself!
A host club had appeared in town, and while it usually wasn’t something you’d indulge in, you couldn’t help but wonder what kind of guys you may meet…
Sometimes Ace wonders if he truly belongs in the host club, but he just can’t find it in him to leave. He certainly doesn’t hate the attention, but sometimes it just overwhelms him, that’s all.
Learning the ways of a host was challenging, but he grasped it quite quickly, and his fan base grew immensely. He had a boyish charm about him, revealing a vulnerable side of himself if prompted carefully.
If you’re too affectionate with him, you might find yourself with a blushing mess! So please do refrain from complimenting his beautiful freckles, tell him he smells nice, or look at him too lovingly or he might combust!
“You’re too sweet to me, [name]…”
But all in all, he’s an amazing host. If you have a request, he’s quick to set a plan in action, ushering you around with a respectful arm around your waist. When he’s not trying to die from all the affection you give him, he’s quite confident and that playful smirk never leaves his lips.
He’s bold and suave, and makes grand gestures a part of brand. He spins you around, gifts you flowers, compliments your beauty and gives you an unforgettable experience.
Sabo is probably one of the smoothest hosts that this club has ever seen. He has a way with words that have his clients dropping to their knees, and he ends up with racks and envelopes of confessions from every client imaginable.
But you, on the other hand, are certainly his favorite. Even when he first met you, with the mannerisms of a prince, he took your hand and spun you around until you fell in his arms.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, my beautiful flower.”
His smile was deadly and he made sure to use it right, often after a little teasing so you’d forgive him for playing with you so much. He often smelled of citrus and leather, and every time you left him his scent lingered on your clothes. He has no problem being a little handsy once you give him the green light.
If you're interested in someone you'll struggle to keep up with, Luffy is your best choice. Some may wonder why he's a host, but his playful and inquisitive manner makes him a natural in some eyes.
The moment you step foot into the hall, he greets you with an all consuming hug.
"[Name]! You made it!"
You're smothered with his scent as he pulls you into a welcoming embrace. He's genuinely eager to meet you, but someone in the background quickly reminds him to address you correctly, and he certainly does try going forward.
He quite honestly takes you for a ride! He has so many things he wants to do and he wants to do them all with you. If he wasn’t confined to the host clubs premises, the two of you would probably explore the entire city! But please tell him if you’d like to slow down—he may be energetic but he refuses to neglect your needs.
For starters, Zoro doesn't know how he ended up as a host. Rumor has it he lost a bet or was challenged by a fellow host sanji and went along with it. But he is the hardest host to book with—if it wasn't for the weekly quota he had to make he probably would've found a way out by now.
He may be a bit gruff, but he certainly is intentional. When you arrive to the club, Zoro is already waiting for you, his back on the wall. When he looks up to see you, only a faint blush is noticeable on his ears. His hair was partially combed back, but stubborn strands littered his stoic face.
"I've been waiting for you, [term]..."
Zoro tenderly reached for your hand and bent down with his eyes closed to place a delicate kiss on your fingers. Your senses were suddenly invaded with the scent of sandalwood and musk, strands of hair falling to cover his sincere expression.
When he looked up at you with hooded eyes, you almost had a heart attack. His gaze was intense—you’d think he was trying to seduce you if this club was meant for other purposes, but the faint blush that dusted his expression revealed he was just as shy as you were.
Unlike the rest, Sanji had the most experience when it came to hosting since it’s simply in his nature to treat his interests like royalty. His beguiling smile and sweet words have many head over heels for him.
Every time he spoke, a string of saccharine compliments followed—you’d think he was a poet the way he his each compliment effortlessly rolled off his tongue.
“I could give up my dreams for you, but something tells me you’re the dream I was meant to chase, mon chéri.”
He was quick to serve you by pulling out a chair, twirling around you to compliment your style and your absolute beauty. His treats and tea were his speciality—he made sure to ask in advance if you had any allergies or preferences.

☆ Monkey D. Luffy x F!Reader
☆ Genre: Fluff (possible future smut), Pining
☆ Warnings: N/A (for now)
☆ Contents: First Kiss, First Time, Innocence, Pining, Discovery, Oblivious Luffy, Friendship/Love
☆ Word Count: 4.5k
☆ Summary: You’ve long been pinning for your captain, maybe since the very first day you first set sail as a strawhat pirate. But knowing him, he’s never and probably will never show interest in anything romantic— let alone for you. Maybe you’ll always be destined to admire him from afar as he chases his dreams. Or maybe one silly little bet on a random night will change your relationship forever…
☆ A/N: you guys are never gonna believe this… im not actually caught up on one piece 🥀 think of this fic happening around the 400 episode mark?? there might be some things that wouldn’t make sense for later lore (i don’t know) and ofc were missing the last strawhat. the rating for this fic might also change later… im not sure if i wanna make this a smut fic or not, but for now its very wholesome :3
other than that, hope you enjoy!
Chapter 1 - The Bet
“I’m telling you, there’s no way in a million years!“ Nami tells you for maybe the thousandth time, leaning (a bit drunkenly) on the stair rail behind her as the two of you sit on the steps together.
“Wanna bet?” You ask her with a certain mischievous look. For a moment she looks a little surprised, then her expression slowly mirrors yours. You know how much she likes a good bet, especially when the odds seem to be in her favor.
“I like those odds. You’re on.” She tells you gladly. You know her too well.
“I want in too.” Zoro’s voice suddenly appears behind you two, making you both jump out of your skin.
“Jerk! Don’t sneak up on us like that!!!” Nami shouts, giving the green haired pirate a good smack on the head.
“Did you hear all of that?!” You ask directly after, a bit mortified because you’ve never told anyone but Nami about this. Though you suppose there are probably others on the ship who have caught on, you’re not exactly that subtle. Unfortunately.
“Yeah, and I’m with Nami.” He says easily, like his confirmation is not very embarrassing for you. “There’s no way you’re getting the captain interested in anything like that. I’ve never seen it once in my time sailing with him.”
“Exactly. That boy is totally unamused by the entire idea.” Nami agrees, “But honestly, I’d still like to see you try.”
You frown at both of them. You know all of this to be true, but you don’t like to admit it. You’ve been admiring and pinning for your captain all this time, yet ultimately knowing better than to actually pursue him. It’s like they said, he’s never really seemed much interested in the idea of romance , not to mention that he’s specifically never shown any of that type of interest in you . Romantically, that is.
You remember when he invited you into his crew, your vulnerable and crying self parallel to his bright-as-the-sun smile. He wanted you to sail with him, be by his side for the coming future. Despite it being the same thing he’d done for most your crew, for a moment it made you feel special, feel like a person who is capable of great things. It was that moment that you fell in love with him. You never had a chance really, you were hooked since your first day of pirating. Luffy gave you many things; confidence, bigger purpose in life, hope, friendship, sanctuary. But you selfishly crave more from him. Is that so bad? Maybe thats why you’ve never quite tried, feeling tied to the role you occupy in his life and the gratitude you should hold for him at all times.
But maybe today, just once, you can try to be a little selfish.
“…Fine. I’ll take both of you on for the bet.” You say, crossing your arms and doubling down (literally).
“Alright!! What are we thinking? Five hundred thousand berries?” Nami beams, a little too excited about this. Does she have that little faith in you??
“Five-?! What, each? Do you think Im rich?!” You gawk at her.
“I can accept a payment plan.” She shrugs.
“No, no.. I know you and your debts…” You mumble, side-eyeing her as you look away for a moment to think.
“Well, you don’t have to do the bet. If you’re that unsure of-“
“Alright, alright…” You quiet her before she can taunt you. “How about.. two hundred thousand each.”
“Two hundred fifty?”
“Fine.”
“Woo-hoo!” She throws her hands in the air and then turns to look at your crewmate. “Zoro? That sounds good for you?”
“Hell yeah it does.” He grins, folding his arms and leaning back as if he’s 100% sure of the outcome being that he’ll be two hundred fifty berries richer tonight.
“Ugh, you guys are the worst.” You groan and push yourself up to stand.
“Hey, you brought this upon yourself.” Zoro tells you and you stick your tongue out at him.
“Whatever. Get ready to lose.” You tell them with only partially-fake confidence, as you turn away.
“Good luck!” Nami waves to you with a smile despite you already walking away. “Oh this is gonna be good.”
“I’ll say.” Zoro grins at her.
As you make your way to Luffy across the deck, your heart does pick up a few paces. Glancing around, the others are busy thankfully. Chopper and Usopp are dancing around with Brook while he plays some quite fitting music for the situation actually. Upbeat but somehow romantic even without any type of lyrics. Robin is relaxing on the upper deck reading a book, franky probably keeping her company. You don’t see Sanji, you imagine he’d be inside preparing meals for tomorrow at this time. That’s good, he’d probably only interfere or worse; freak out if you were lucky enough to actually get anything out of this bet.
You take a deep breath as you set your sights back on Luffy, getting close. You just have to think of this as any other conversation with him, just be natural. He looks so cute, staring at a map at the top of the stairs on the opposite side of the ship from where you just were.
You approach your straw hat captain finally, feeling a bit more doubt than you were before suddenly. Not enough to make you back down, though. You got this.
“Hey Luffy!” You call to him right before you can take a seat across from him. He looks up at you from Nami’s map he was priorly investigating. His immediate smile at seeing you is contagious and it makes your heart flutter like usual.
“Hey, [Y/n]! What’s up?”
“What you doin’ with the map?” You ask him curiously and you both peer forward at it.
“Just thinkin.” He says simply, and you look at him curiously.
“I still can’t believe I’m really getting to sail the grand line with my crew. I wanna get as familiar with this map as possible.” He continues, still staring at it.
You smile fondly at him. You’re so happy he’s getting to achieve his dreams, and that you’re here to see it.
“You’re gonna be great when you finally become king of the pirates. I know it’s your destiny.” You tell him honestly and he looks at you a bit surprised before giving you his signature big grin.
“Thanks! I can’t wait!”
You continue to smile as he goes back to admiring this map. You’re happy to just sit with him like this, and suddenly you don’t even want to do what you came for and possibly ruin this moment. You glance up at the orange and green-haired pair watching you across the deck. They both give you a tipsy and somehow condescending smile. Nami gives you a thumbs up. They really don’t think you can do this.
“Hey, Luffy. Can I ask you something?” You speak suddenly, breaking the prior silence.
“Sure, anything.” He answers easily, still gazing down. Your heart flutters.
“It might be kinda weird.” You warn him and he finally glances up at you, attention peaked.
“Weird how?”
“I’m just curious..” You start, trailing off for a moment. You want to make this seem as natural as you can. Play it cool.
“Have you ever kissed anyone?”
“Huh??“ Comes his immediate surprise, his eyes widening a little. “Kissed someone? What, like, on the mouth?”
You giggle at his predictably silly reaction.
“Yes, on the mouth.” You confirm.
“No. Why would I? Seems gross.”
“Why’s that?”
“I dunno. Just does.”
Shut down.
Okay, you can still do this. Keep going.
“But don’t you think there’s a reason why so many people do it? Maybe it would feel good if it was someone you really liked, right?” You explain, trying not to be weird. Did that sound weird?
“Maybe. But I’ve never felt that way about anyone.” He shrugs, attention going back to the map.
Wow, okay. You have to admit that that one stung to actually hear out loud. You think you just might be down for the count after that. Ugh, you don’t really care about Zoro, but being in Nami’s debt does not sound fun. Why did you do this?
You gaze at the map again with Luffy, just continuing to have a bit of a pity party in your own brain.
“How would I even know, though?” He suddenly asks, drawing your attention back to him.
“Huh? Know what?” You ask.
“Know if I liked someone like that? How do people even know?”
You have to take a second to really think about that question. How do you explain the feeling to someone who’s supposedly never felt it?
“Well… You would probably think about them a lot, and want to be around them all the time, know everything about them, help them whenever you can. It would be the person you have the most fun with, like a best friend, but something more. They would make you really happy, and excited, but also nervous and anxious. You want to be better for them, always growing so you can protect them and care for them.” You list off things as you think about all the ways you know that you have feelings for him.
“A lot of that just sounds like stuff I feel for all my friends, though.” He frowns, confused.
“Yeah, well, I guess it’s pretty similar. But it’s definitely different.” You try to explain to him, though still contradicting yourself there. “You would probably just know. Someone who makes you feel different than anyone else. You think of them in different ways than you would with your friends. You’d want to do… romantic things with them. That kind of thing.”
“Huh…” He hums, putting his chin in his hand and looking off at the sea for a second to think about it.
The clear sky allowed for beautiful moonlight to shine down on the ship tonight. You stare at your captain as you admire him for the umpteenth time. You wish he would do the same for you, but you’re content enough with just getting to spend time with him like this, see him like this.
“Yeah.. I don’t think I’ve ever felt all that.” He says slowly, still gazing off. You ignore the ache this time and try to just be present in your conversation with him.
“That’s okay. Maybe you just don’t get those feelings. That’s totally fine.” You reassure him. It’s true, some people just don’t get feelings like that, aren’t able to. Maybe Luffy was like that. You’d considered it before.
“What?!” He shouts suddenly, whipping his head around to you. “That’s possible?! But I don’t want to miss out! If it’s so great like people say…”
His pouting pulls a short giggle out of you, and you turn to look at the sea this time. It looks so endless on nights like these. But the light reflecting off every surface around uou is certainly a beautiful sight.
“It’s not that great, really.” You sigh, wielding a bittersweet smile. “Honestly sometimes it’s kind of torture. But maybe you’ll still get to feel it one day, who knows? Maybe you just haven’t met the right person.”
It’s quiet for a few moments after that. You swear you can feel his eyes on you now, but you’re too afraid to look.
“So, you’ve liked someone like that before?” He asks you. You look back at him finally, a bit thrown.
“Well, yeah. Of course.”
He stares at you for a moment, that then turns into a lot more moments. So much time that it becomes kind of uncomfortable and you have to glance away. His face is stark blank, so you have no idea what this look means.
“Luffy?” You say cautiously, tilting your head a bit.
“Hm.” He hums, deciding to look back down at the map between you two. You frown, confused on whatever that just was.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothin.” He answers simply, and so you don’t push any further. Whatever. Maybe he got lost in thought about something totally unrelated. Your captain is kind of unpredictable like that.
There’s another silence, though more comfortable this time. Moreso than the map now, you start to admire Luffy’s hands in front of you. The sight along with Brook’s distant piano music and the sound of the waves calmly moving, makes this moment feel so tender and serine. You want to keep it with you to remember when times get hard.
“Still though.. I can’t imagine that kissing anyone at all would be all that great.” He speaks suddenly once more, and your head perks up again. He still looks particularly focused on the map, despite continuing this unrelated conversation.
“Even if I liked them all special, like you said.” He adds and you blink at him.
Oh, you feel an opening here.
“You don’t think it would be nice at all?” You continue, pulling it a bit further.
“Not really.”
“Well…” You start, and you bite your lip to contemplate if you’re really about to say this. Can you?
“Then…” You keep going and, finally, he looks up at you again slightly. His big brown eyes are a weakness of yours truly. And you realize it might just be now or never.
“Do you.. wanna try?” You finally ask cautiously, giving him a smile despite your nerves.
“What, kissing? With who?” He asks, obviously not getting the hint.
This is it. You can feel it. Your confidence is starting to come back and you can still feel those two’s eyes on you from across the ship. You feel like they’re about to be in for a show.
“I can show you, if you want.” You offer sweetly, and you do enjoy the way his reaction flusters in surprise as he realizes what you meant. You hardly see him get embarrassed, or whatever this is.
“H-HUH?! WITH YOU?!” He shouts obnoxiously, grabbing the other’s attention for a moment. You just keep smiling at him.
“[Y/n], are you drunk?” He questions you, raising an eyebrow.
What the hell! Why would that be his first assumption?!
“I am not!” You scoff in defense, and honestly you forgot that that was even a factor. Though it probably wasn’t. You hardly drank much at all and it was a while ago now. This is just what you wanted, drunk or sober. Sometimes, when you got drunk, Nami had to keep you away from the captain so you didn’t embarrass yourself in front of the crew. Not the point.
“You don’t have to, obviously, if you’re not comfortable. I’m just saying, if you’re really curious…” You tell him and trail off. You find it hard to keep eye contact, eyes wandering off and then running back to him again.
He stares at you, and he seems to be actually considering this, to your surprise. You continue to watch him contemplate it. Your heart feels like it’s going a million beats a second now.
“…Alright.” He concludes, and you’re not quite sure what that means by this. You wait for him to continue.
“I mean, can’t hurt to try and say I did it, right? Then I’ll know I’m not missing out on anything.” He tells you and- oh my god this is really happening. He just agreed to kiss you. Your eyes light up. You’re so excited to not only win this bet, but also get to be Luffy’s very first kiss.
“Okay! You want to do it now?” You ask him, just to make sure (and maybe a bit too eager).
“Sure, why not?” He tells you, staring at you intently. It’s a bit strange the way he immediately got over his embarrassment from a moment ago, but then again that is very Luffy of him.
The truth is though, that Luffy is actually nervous deep down. This thing that everyone seems to value so much and is apparently so intimate and great. He’d never really seen the appeal. But now that he’s agreed to do it with you, it’s suddenly got his stomach all in knots, a weird queasy feeling mixed with antsy anticipation. Is that what you were talking about earlier?
The two of you kind of just stare at eachother for a moment or two.
“Uh.. so.. how do I do it?” He asks you genuinely, like he has to wait for your instruction.
You smile and try not to tease him for his question. It’s an understandable one for someone who’s never done this. You’ve only done with one person in the past, but that still makes you more experienced.
“Just do whatever feels natural. Oh, and close your eyes. It’s weird to stare at the other person while kissing.” You tell him and he nods in understanding, eyebrows furrowed and cheeks a slight pink. He shuts his eyes tightly and waits, and you cant help not to silently giggle while he can’t see you.
Wow, you’re really doing this. And just on the deck like this, too. You totally thought he’d want to go somewhere private or something. Though, now it seems obvious that he wouldn’t care enough to want to hide.
You take one last look at the two people who are totally about to be in your debt, making eye contact. They have no idea what’s going on, rather confused compared to their earlier confidence in your failure.
You give them a cute wink before turning back to Luffy and finally leaning to place a soft kiss on his lips. You’re honestly half expecting him to shoot backwards in disgust, but he doesn’t. He seems unsure for a second, just kind of staying still, but after a few seconds ends up leaning into it. You can already hear the others freaking out from a distance, more than just Zoro and Nami after their initial shout of disbelief. You smile against his lips at your win, and take in one last moment with him like this before you pull back. The moment is so sweet, you already know you’ll never forget it for the rest of your life, even if you never get to do this with him again. And you are simultaneously accepting that the likeliness of this never happening again is pretty high. At the end of the day, Nami and Zoro were still right, Luffy has no real interest in romance. Of course you knew that. Still, it’ve killed you if you didn’t try. And thank god you did.
What happens next surprises you, though. When you do start to pull back slowly… his lips only follow you. You break for less than a second before you’re connected again. He doesn’t want to stop, keeping the two of you together himself. You almost gasp, totally taken off guard by the way he seems to take charge. Didn’t he say he’d never done this? Why does this feel so good?
This changes everything. Before this was just some sort of trial, nothing special between the two of you, something you were sure he wouldn’t end up liking anyways. But now… you start to get excited. There’s butterflies in your stomach and suddenly you’re nervous. This feels ten times more intimate than it did originally, and assumingely everyone is just watching you guys have this moment.
This goes on for a few more moments, many moments longer than you had originally anticipated. Still, you take in every bit of it. You forget where you are or what even started this. All you can think is how good Luffy’s lips feel on yours. Your fingers somehow come to intertwine on the map below you at the same time, like your bodies are in sync. His hands are smooth like rubber, and warm against yours, just like his lips.
This is perfect. You don’t want to stop. You could do this forever.
You pull back only when you feel Luffy start to. Only a few inches, faces still close. You’re both blushing with heavy breath, but your expressions couldn’t be more different. Your eyes are blown wide, still in shock from what just happened, and-
The fact that Luffys expression is—for lack of better description— lusted out. You’ve certainly never seen him look at you like this before, and you have to cover your mouth with your hand before it goes agape right in front of him.
“Um..” you push out embarrassingly sheepish behind your palm. “So.. how was that?”
You most definitely already know the answer from all of his body language, but you’d still like to know what he’s thinking.
“You were right.. that felt good.” He tells you genuinely, slowly coming to his senses again. A shiver runs up your spine by how smoothly and assuredly his words come out. Your face is still hot and he can’t stop staring at you. This is so unexpected, all of it. You weren’t ready.
“What about you?” He asks back suddenly.
“Me?”
“Yeah. It was my first time, so, how was I?”
“It was… really good. Are you sure that was your first time?” Your question is half joking and half genuine. You know that he’s definitely never done this before but seriously that felt way too incredible for your mind to really accept that fact. Luffy puts on a big grin after hearing your words.
“Hah! I was that good, huh?” He jokes, snickering. But his grin drops when he sees you’re not laughing with him, still with the same expression. “You okay?”
“Yeah! I’m great! Fine..” You assure him, sitting up straight again and finally letting your hand down from your face. As someone who’s had feelings for him for a long time now, and had already accepted that he’d never feel the same way, even while actively kissing with him. This has totally shaken you.
“LUFFYYYYYYY!!!!” Comes a familiar booming voice from your right. Uh oh.
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING WITH MY PRECIOUS [Y/N]?! DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD TONGUE HER OUT ON THE DECK LIKE THIS AND GET AWAY WITH IT?!” He shouts as he grabs your captain by his vest and shakes him around.
“H-HUH?! TONGUE?! WHATS DO YOU MEAN?!” He shouts back, completely dazed and confused.
“DONT ACT OBLIVIOUS WITH ME! HOW DARE YOU CORRUPT HER PURE AND FRAGILE MIND WITH YOUR PERVERTED ACTIONS!! ARE YOU NOT ASHAMED?! YOURE HER CAPTAIN!!”
You stare in utter shock at those two, frozen in place. What can you even do here? Sanji is way too worked up for you to get a word in.
“BUT-SANJI-“ Luffy starts to protest.
“I DONT WANNA HEAR IT BUCKO. IM GONNA MAKE YOU PAY FOR THIS YOU HEAR ME?!-“
“SANJI!!!” Nami’s incoming voice booms even louder from behind him before he can say anything else. She gives him a hard smack on the head, knocking him out cold. Your jaw drops, though you really shouldn’t be shocked at something like that at this point.
“So sorry to interrupt! Continue!” She insists quickly as she goes to drag Sanji’s now unconscious body away from you guys.
“Uh. That’s okay. I was planning on going to bed soon anyways, I’m tired.” Luffy speaks up, making her stop and bringing your attention back to him. He outstandingly quickly seems to have gotten over all that shaking and screaming from just now.
“Tell Sanji I’m sorry for whatever he was upset about when he wakes up, kay?”
He then promptly stands and begins to walk towards the quarters. Both yours and Namis eyes follow him.
“Oh, um.. sure. If you say so.” She says, sounding a bit confused.
“[Y/n].” He says as he comes to a brief stop, not far from you yet.
“Yeah?”
“Earlier all that stuff you described, I think I felt that just now… Does that mean I like you?” He asks without looking at you for some reason. Your eyes widen, his question ten times more intense than he makes it sound. You cant even believe what you just heard.
“I.. I wouldn’t know. Only you would know that..” You force yourself to say, even though you wish you could just tell him yes. But was that a form of confession or not? Luffy’s always been unique and done things differently, you doubt he’d ever confess to you normally if that were a possibility. Or, you suppose it is a possibility now.
“Hm.. alright. Well! Cya tomorrow.” He says easily, waving his hand and walking until he’s inside and out of sight.
Both you and Nami have no words. She’s staring at you while you continue to stare at the door, but you both share the same disbelief.
“Well, I guess we owe you two hundred fifty thousand berries each now.” Zoro says, having walked up at some point, you’re not really sure when.
“Yeah I mean… I gotta admit you proved us wrong entirely..” Nami agrees slowly, clearly still dumbfounded.
“Forget it.” You tell them. “I don’t want it anymore.”
“Huh?! Seriously?!” Zoro shouts in disbelief, probably never used to being relieved of debt thanks to one of your friends.
“[Y/n], are you alright? Just what happened??” Nami asks you, not really all that concerned with the bet now, same as you.
“I’m great! I’m…” You slowly turn your head, finally looking over to your friend. Your hand comes up to rest over your mouth again, and you feel like you can still feel his lips on yours. You’re just still in total disbelief. You kissed Luffy. Not only that, but he liked kissing you, he wanted to do it.
“I just cant believe… He said he enjoyed it.. and earlier he was even trying to keep me from stopping.”
“Seriously?? Aww, [Y/N]!” Nami tells you with a smile. Despite always showing her moreso disapproval (and sometimes disgust) at your long-term crush on the captain, of course she’s still happy for you. All this time she’d given you advice and a shoulder to lean on about the whole thing, she was the only person you really told (though you’re sure maybe others have caught on). She never thought it was possible to get the captain to feel that type of thing, his aspirations too big seemingly to have any interest. This is a big surprise for both of you.
“Alright, you ladies can gossip about the details, but I don’t need to hear it so I’m out.” Zoro says, a little uncomfortable clearly. “But you’re serious about dropping the bet?”
“Yeah.. I don’t want the whole thing to be tainted by it being some bet. Let’s just pretend that never happened and… don’t tell Luffy, please.” You tell them both seriously and they nod, obviously having no objections to not having to pay you that amount anymore.
You then get bombarded by some of the others for a moment, all asking you a bunch of questions at once that you don’t really want to answer even if you could. You still need time to process this. Your best friend Nami obviously knows this, and forces them all to leave you alone so you can go to bed. You thank her and head to your room.
You realize something before you’re about to fall asleep. Just what exactly is this going to mean for the future on the ship?

“Y/n, I can’t eat if you keep doing that!” Luffy shouts playfully as you continue to push your finger into the soft skin of your boyfriend’s cheek. A giggle escapes as you turn your focus back to the plate sitting on the table meant for you, taking small bites while glancing at Luffy, plotting your next move.
Later on the deck, your captain sits perched on the railing, fishing rod in hand with a big grin across his face. Slowly, you creep behind him, careful not to make any noise—Luffy was very attuned to his surroundings, so this part took extra effort. Before he could even turn around, you had snatched his hat, running off laughing with pride at a successful heist. Luffy chases after you with his own laugh trailing behind, stretching and wrapping his rubber arms around your waist to pull you back to him.
“You’re being silly, is it a special day or something?!” he asks excitedly, taking his hat out of your hands and placing it on your head.
“I just want to give you some attention~” Your words slip past his ear like silk, making the weird feeling in his chest come back—just like it does every time you lean into him this way.
Luffy plops down against a nearby wall, keeping you in his lap as he wraps his arms around you more intimately now, keeping one hand on your lower back and the other holding your head against his chest.
“Like this?”
The feeling of his voice rumbling in his chest makes you feel at home, making you bury your face further into him.
“Exactly like this.”
Even though the relentless sun poured waves of heat down below, neither of you cared about the possibility of uncomfortable sweat sticking you together—hell, Luffy probably invited the idea. A few hours passed like this: small circles being drawn on your back, conversations about favorite foods, and, of course, your captain challenging you to a staring contest (which you lost three times).
Sanji calls everyone for dinner right before the sun is about to set. You and Luffy are the last ones to join, much to everyone’s surprise, knowing how much Luffy loves food. Instead of attempting to tease him like you did at breakfast, you lean over lovingly with a fork full of some type of chicken and rice, offering to feed a bite to Luffy. He gladly accepts, giving you the most adorable face in approval. The crew groans at the sight of the lovey-dovey couple, continuing to eat like they weren’t about to barf.
You didn’t care. Your boyfriend gave so much, and the least you could do was give back—even if it was a bit mushy.
After dinner, you stayed back with a few others to help clean and put away dishes. With the help, it wouldn’t take long, but Luffy was growing impatient. All day he had been thinking about some way he could show his love back in a way you weren’t used to experiencing—finally coming back to the thought of your words from earlier, the way they immediately went straight to his dick and made wearing shorts uncomfortable.
You had both had sex together, just not as often as other couples. Sanji had explained the importance of keeping your partner happy in more ways than one. Luffy took the advice to heart, making sure he memorized every part of you—the way your lips part when he kisses your neck, the way you grip his hair when he flattens his tongue against your clit, even the way you arch your back and how it perfectly fits against him.
Tonight would be no different. He was going to make you feel just as loved as you made him feel today.
Once you were the last one in the kitchen, finishing the last few glasses from dinner, Luffy walks in, coming to give you the biggest hug from behind. Slightly startled, you jump—accidentally pressing your ass to his crotch, earning a genuine grunt from your boyfriend. His hands find your hips and grip them tightly, pressing you even closer to him. You can feel his length through his shorts, the thin material leaving nothing to the imagination.
“I like it when you touch me…”
His voice is deep, sending a shiver through your body. You turn to face him, letting a hand trail down his stomach but stopping right before the hem of his shorts.
“When I touch you how? Hmm?”
The feeling flows back into Luffy’s chest, overwhelming the restriction he’s set for himself. Instead of responding, Luffy crashes his lips into yours, messy and rough with emotion. Only you could make him feel this way. He wanted nothing more than to love every inch of you, show you how much you mean to him.
His kisses trail to your jaw, then your neck, pulling back only for a moment to hoist you onto the kitchen counter, careful not to hit your head on the cabinets behind. Fingers tangle in his hair as you giggle, gasping every so often at the soft nibbles Luffy leaves on your skin.
“We can’t do this here, what if someone sees?”
You wanted to sound serious and composed, but instead it came out shaky and needy, highlighting your arousal.
“Let ‘em, don’t care…”
He says between open-mouthed kisses that are now trailing to your chest. He has half a mind to just rip your shirt but opts to just lift it over your head quickly, exposing your bra-less chest.
“So pretty.”
His eyes are wide with admiration, simply in awe at your body. A slight blush grazes your face—Luffy was a very straightforward person. He says what he means and nothing more, meaning he truly thought the highest of you.
The open red shirt that usually hangs off your boyfriend’s body drops to the floor along with your shirt. Eagerly, Luffy attaches his lips to your right nipple, toying with your left in his hand, licking his fingers before rolling the sensitive bud. A loud moan escapes your lips, quickly covered with a hand to hide the sound from the rest of the crew.
Luffy laughs playfully at your reaction, moving your hand and pinning it above your head against the cabinet.
“You’re too serious, just have fun!”
His voice is cheerful but still laced with something darker, something dirty.
You relax a bit into his words, letting him fondle you just the way you like. He knew you better than any other guy had been able to prove—showing it through his worship of your body. His eyes flicker to yours for a moment as he reaches your lower stomach, clenching the fabric of your shorts between his teeth. You nod, letting him know to continue.
Swiftly, your shorts are slid down, Luffy’s lips dragging across the skin of your legs on the way. The cool air feels foreign against your now exposed core, causing goosebumps to litter your arms. Luffy kneels in front of you, taking in the sight of your pussy leaking onto the counter.
“Look at how wet you are!”
A finger swipes up your slit, gathering the juices easily. You gasp at the sudden contact, looking down at your boyfriend with crimson-tinted cheeks. He pulls his finger away to hold it up in front of you, showing how your slick drips down his knuckles onto his wrist. You lean forward slightly to take his finger into your mouth, sucking every last drop of yourself off of him.
The sight makes his tip push a small stream of precum over his shaft, soaking into his shorts. Frustrated at the tightness, Luffy rips his last piece of clothing off, cock springing to slap him in the abdomen. A breath hitches in your throat—you could see him a million times but still be surprised at how big he is.
Before you can reach for him, he’s kneeling again, quickly working his mouth against your soaking core. His tongue is fast but calculated—flicking, sucking, lapping your juices until the room starts spinning. When you grip his hair and moan his name, the grunts he lets out against your heat make your knees shake.
The small gasps turn desperate as you near your orgasm, telling Luffy to pull away. His mouth and chin are covered in you. He kisses your lips passionately, full of love and wanting—you can taste yourself on him, and he makes sure of it by pressing his tongue against yours. You whimper while bucking your hips against his, missing the contact his mouth once had on your pussy.
Luffy removes his lips from yours, watching how you pout while looking up at him with those beautiful eyes. He can’t deny you anything when you look like that.
“I’m gonna make you feel good.”
He leans low to your ear, voice barely above a whisper when he speaks. You could almost cum just from hearing his words. He had you wrapped around his finger, and soon you’ll be wrapping around his cock.
Without warning, Luffy slams into you, causing a loud squeal to echo through the kitchen. He sets the pace quickly, relentlessly shoving his tip against your cervix. The small amount of pain is covered by the immense pleasure shooting through your body. His hands are everywhere—thighs, ass, tits, even wrapping around your neck slightly just to see your reaction.
Your moans and cries fill Luffy’s head, fueling him better than any meal ever could. His left hand settles between your legs, rubbing small circles on your clit as you beg him to go faster—words never falling on deaf ears.
The fear of someone catching the two of you vanished the moment you started clenching around him, the feeling causing both of you to see stars. Lips find your chest again, leaving hickeys on the underside curve of your breast, licking and sucking your nipples.
The pleasure is overwhelming—your vision became blurry moments ago and isn’t showing any signs of letting up soon. The knot in your lower stomach only grows stronger and tighter.
“So pretty… So tight…”
Luffy struggles slightly to get his words out, his own orgasm around the corner as well. He feels a pair of legs wrap around his waist, looking down at you with sweat dripping from his forehead.
“Don’t pull out, please, Captain~”
The way your mouth drops open from his thrusts, the flushed look of your body, the way your tits bounce in his face while he fucks you—now you’re calling him Captain in that sweet little needy voice?
His thrusts become sloppy and snap quicker, burying his face in the crook of your neck.
“Gonna… Cum soon. Get ready.”
Luffy grabs your hips, pulling you closer to him. The noises he makes against your skin send you over the edge, gasping and sucking in his cock with the way you pulse around him. His orgasm follows soon after, spilling himself inside your plush walls.
He doesn’t pull out right away. Instead, he kisses your neck sweetly, catching his breath while taking in the scent of your clammy skin. Fingers trail down his back softly, trying to ground themselves against him, your breathing matching his for the time being.
After a few moments like this, Luffy slowly pulls himself out of you, causing a sigh to leave your mouth and a small smirk to spread across his face as he watches his seed flow out of your hole, dripping down the sides of the counter.
“Guess I made you messy, huh?”
His usual grin flashes while grabbing a clean rag off a shelf to clean you with.
“Yeah, but I don’t mind this mess,” you say with a small laugh, watching Luffy take care of you in the softest way he knows how.
Grabbing your clothes to quickly throw them back on, you ask,
“So, why the sudden change in plans for tonight?”
Your boyfriend, after getting dressed himself, embraces you in the biggest, softest hug.
“Because I wanted to make you happy!”
No hint of hidden motives, just pure love and affection. Luffy truly wanted you to feel special—nothing more, nothing less.
The rest of the night is filled with snacks and cuddling in your shared bedroom.
“I love you.”
Three simple words that felt like pure bliss, rarely said by your boyfriend—not because he didn’t want to, he was just better with actions than words.
“I love you too, rubber boy,” you say with an affectionate smile, before eventually falling asleep on Luffy’s chest—the most comforting place in the world.

saying “i love you” - luffy x you (fem)
literally just a headcanon of how long and how exactly luffy would say ily
w.c - 1k. not edited
How long it takes: 3 months
This boy’s mind is a blank slate. Despite being in a relationship for three months, saying the words “I love you” simply never crossed his mind. He wasn’t afraid of saying it, he just never remembered to. He typically displays his affection through actions and having fun with you instead.
Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper sat around the main table in the kitchen. Dinner had finished a little while ago, and the rest of the crew had moved on to do their own things, leaving the three of them at the table. The area erupted in laughter, their attention entirely focused on Usopp and his shenanigans of imitating people.
The man held a hand to his chin, thinking mischievously. “Sanji…” he murmured, “Aha!” Suddenly his eyes lit up and he planted a fisted hand on his other palm. Instantly he went into acting mode. “Nami-swannnnn! Don’t leave meeee!” the man shouted dramatically, pretending to cover one eye with his hair. “I always need a beautiful lady by my side! Mellorine!”
Luffy and Chopper burst into fits of howling, as Usopp clutched a hand to his heart, almost falling out of his seat from swooning.
“Do Luffy! Do Luffy!” Chopper begged through his cute wheezes, struggling to stay upright in his chair.
Luffy nodded eagerly, “Do me!” he grinned, wanting his own imitation even if it was at the expense of himself.
Usopp immediately went zombie-mode, stretching out his arms and letting his tongue roll out of his mouth. “Meeeeeeat,” he drawled.
Luffy cackled and clapped his hands, “Do another one!”
Usopp looked at him slyly. He closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around himself, pretending to hug a non-existent person. “I looooove my girlfriend! Mwah Mwah!” He made a deep kissy-face, completely with smooching sound effects. “I love you, I love you I loooove you,” he dragged out.
He peeped one eye open to take in their reactions, his cheeks filling with laughter that he struggled to keep in as he saw Chopper. The little reindeer rolled back and forth on the floor, hollering like an adorable maniac as tears of laughter escaped his eyes. “Stop Usopp, stop!” he begged, no part of him actually wanting the man to stop.
Continuing the skit, Usopp glanced at Luffy. However, upon witnessing his reaction, the comedian-in-training froze, not quite sure what to do. Luffy stared at Usopp, but it was clear his mind wasn’t really there. He sat lost in thought, hand to his chin as if he was contemplating something equivalent to the meaning of the universe. The only sound that could be heard was Choppers giggles.
But the reindeer went silent as soon as he opened his eyes and noticed that Usopp had stopped. He climbed to his feet, “You can keep going, Usopp,” he whisper-yelled, returning to his chair.
Luffy made a low, “Hmmm…” noise, tilting his head in concentration.
“Erm, Luffy?” Usopp asked.
Luffy’s eyes darted to him, and he sat there defeatedly, “Do I have to tell her I love you?”
Usopp blinked, taken aback by the question. “You’ve… Never told her you love her?” he asked in somewhat disbelief.
“What?!” Chopper screeched.
Luffy went unresponsive, closing his eyes to contemplate things again. His face contorted weirdly, as if thinking through this was too much for him. Usopp shook his head, as if to come to his senses after hearing such surprising news. “Yes! You should tell her you love her.”
Luffy’s eyes darted open, as if the statement gave him the only answer he needed. “Mmm!” he responded, giving one big nod. Instantly, he jumped to his feet, bolting towards the door. As he skidded out of the kitchen, he came to a stop. He stared out at the deck beneath him, but he didn’t process anything in front of him, as he went back to being lost in thought again. “Do I love her…” he murmured. After a moment he nodded again, coming to his own conclusion that he should say those special words and the importance of them, despite Usopp nudging him on.
He slung himself over the railing, toward the deck, and shouted your name for all to hear. He raced up and down the area, trying to find you, “I LOVE YOUUUUU!!”
=+=
You stood on the upper deck at the front of the Sunny, taking in the crisp air of the night as you stared at the peaceful ocean. Well, peaceful for a moment. All of a sudden the piercingly-loud sound of your captain’s voice reached your ears, beckoning you to him.
“I REALLY LOVE YOUUUU!!!” he shouted. You watched him swing up to the crow’s nest like a monkey, trying to find you.
You grinned as you heard those words, the surprise of them taking a second for their meaning to fully hit you. You quickly lifted your arms, waving your hands above your head to signal his attention. “Luffy!” you called.
From up near the crow’s nest, the silhouette of his arms whipped down to the railing beside you. His hands latching onto the rail, and he flung himself at full speed towards you. “I LOOOVE YOU!!” he shouted again. Instantly, the weight of his body collided with yours, almost sending you tumbling to the ground.
“Woahhh,” you laughed. You felt his arms extending around you and him and wrapping you both together in a very Luffy-esque hug.
Despite the limited lighting, you could make out his massive grin. “I loooove you!!” he declared again.
You matched his laugh as you realized this was the first time those words had blessed your ears. Had you been able to, you would’ve tried to cover the blush creeping across your cheeks, but with your hands pinned at your sides by Luffy’s arms, you were just happy for the cover of night. You had never really thought about the scenario of having him say that phrase, but now that it was here, you were at a loss for words.
He pushed his face against yours, your noses aggressively love-booping each other. “Say it baaaack!” he whined, a small pout growing on his face the more you were silent.
You let out a chuckle, his words bringing you back to reality, “I love you too, captain.”
He let out a victorious gremlin-like laugh, his forehead bonking against yours. He pressed a cute but messy kiss to your nose. Had it been physically possible to get closer to you, he would’ve smothered you even more with his physical affections.

The Party & The After Party
Trafalgar Law & Crocodile x Reader (separately)

Masterlist
Warning(s): some sexual content, emotional manipulation, toxic dynamics, psychological themes, spelling mistakes (will be fixed soon)
A/n: this is heavily based off of the song ‘Then Part & The After Party’ by The Weeknd, Law’s part is the part ‘The Party’ and Crocodile’s part is ‘The After Party’ I do recommend listening to the song while reading and they just fit those parts of the song to me but enjoy!
⋆˙⟡Law (The Party)
“Everybody wants you, you can have them all but I got what you need”
Trafalgar Law who watched some random guys put their hands on your shoulder or rub your back for way longer than you or Law would like but law still didn’t do anything about it instead he just sat back and watched as the man and you laughed and giggled at each other.
Trafalgar Law who swore he wasn’t jealous when you confronted him about the way he was acting towards you after your conversation with the random guys that stopped you but still didn’t say anything
Trafalgar Law who pressed his mouth to your ear and whispered, “You look real comfortable letting hands that aren’t mine touch you.” Then walked away knowing you’d follow because that’s what you always do.
Trafalgar Law who makes you beg for his attention, only to smirk when you finally crack.
Trafalgar Law who kisses you like punishment and praise at the same time, like he hates that he wants you this much.
You were both breathless, foreheads pressed together, he didn’t say anything, just looked at you with swollen lips and a clenched jaw, like he wasn’t sure if he wanted to kiss you again or leave before he fell apart. “I know you want this Law.” The way his name rolled off your tongue made him want to take off everything and fuck you.
Trafalgar Law who backed you up against the nearest wall, tongue deep in your mouth, fingers digging into your hips like he was trying to memorize the shape of you.
Trafalgar Law who pulled away again, just slightly, breath ragged as he stared down at your kiss-bruised mouth, hands starting to pull your shirt and pants off.
You whimpered, a breathy, desperate thing that made him smirk as he pushed his thigh between your legs. He rocked you against him slowly, deliberately.
Your fingers tangled in his hair as his lips found that spot under your ear that made you arch into him and he knew it, he kissed it again, harder, slower.
He rolled his hips and your knees nearly gave out.
Trafalgar Law who touched you like he hated how good it felt, like he wanted to ruin you but couldn’t stop worshipping you at the same time.
Trafalgar Law who finally pulled back, chest heaving, lips swollen, he just stared at you for a second too long, like he almost said something real.
Trafalgar Law who he stepped back, picked up his coat, and said without looking at you:
“You can go back to them now.”
⋆˙⟡Crocodile (The After Party)
“Ringtone on silent, And if she stops then I might get violent”
Crocodile who hired you as his personal maid because why would someone like him do things that he can have someone else do for him.
Crocodile who claims you could wear what you want but always request that you wear a silk robe that he had given to you on your first day.
Crocodile who never touches you during the day, but makes you clean his bedroom at night, always while he’s there, always while he’s watching.
He doesn’t say a word just smokes and lets the silence choke you.
Crocodile who leaves the room messy on purpose just so you’ll have to bend over to pick up the ashtray, the jacket, the ring he left beside the bed.
And when you finally snap “Am I your maid or your toy?” he just laughs low and says, “You were never just a maid.”
Crocodile who never raises his voice but somehow makes you feel like screaming just from the way he says your name.
Crocodile who punishes you by ignoring you, knows silence drives you mad faster than violence. Three days, no words, just the click of his boots and the burn of his stare every time you pass.
Crocodile who kisses you only when you’re upset like he’s rewarding your collapse. And when you whisper, “I hate you,” he smiles for the first time in hours “That’s better than pretending you don’t feel anything.”
Crocodile who pulls you into his lap without a word, cigar still burning between his fingers, and spreads your legs like it’s routine.
Crocodile who fingers you slow and cruel, like he’s reading you, memorizing you like every gasp is a confession.
Crocodile who eats you out like he’s proving a point, holding your thighs open with one hand and pressing down on your stomach with the other.
“Squirm all you want. You’re not going anywhere.”
Crocodile who takes you against the window of his office just to remind you who owns the highest view.
The desert heat pressed against the glass, your hands leaving marks on it and his voice in your ear:“Let them see. Let them know you’re mine.”
Crocodile who makes you ride him with your wrists tied behind your back not because he has to, but because he likes watching you beg without touching him.
Crocodile who kisses you so deeply mid-thrust you forget how to breathe because he wants to suffocate you on more than just his cock. And when you cry out his name, he pulls your hair back and mutters, “Say it louder. You’ll be screaming it by the time I’m done.”
Crocodile who doesn’t care if you cry during sex he just wants to know why. “Are you scared? Are you ashamed? Or is it because you love how good it feels to be ruined by me?”
Crocodile who finishes inside you without warning, without asking because he doesn’t have to. And when you flinch, he holds your chin and says, “If I wanted to trap you, I’d use a ring. This is mercy.”
Crocodile who cleans you up himself, slow, quiet, meticulous not out of care, but because it’s another way to remind you he controls how you fall and how you’re put back together. “You break pretty,” he says, wiping your thighs with a cloth you know he’ll make you wash later.
Crocodile who doesn’t fall in love, he consumes.

Scarpia Virgus already knew what his granddaughter was going to do before she did it.
He could feel it. Her intent. Her hatred, which burned inside of her slowly like a calm but constant fireplace. The weeks of travel towards the family’s headquarters were mostly silent. Yet, even if she didn’t speak, he could feel the heat of her anger burning from the other side of the ship.
When they finally arrived at Scarpia Island, Virgus already knew what she would do.
He didn’t stop her.
And now, the west side of the mansion was partially destroyed.
He stood on the border of the crater his grandchildren caused during the fight and watched.
Crowley bled. He got up from the floor holding his scythe with both hands, ready for one more attack. His eyes shone as red as the blood that dripped from his wounds. Part of his shirt was completely destroyed, reduced to gashes.
From the other side, his granddaughter reappeared from within the cloud of smoke and debris. She also bled in many places. The girl twirled the spiked ball of her chain, her gaze unwavering, completely locked on her older brother.
They attacked at the same time.
The shockwave produced by their clash played with Virgus’ long beard.
The old man analyzed their fight with attention. They were both excellent, as was expected of Scarpia assassins. The untrained eye would not be able to follow their fast movements. Both of them had dominated the art of maneuvering their respective weapons. She was not as physically strong as Crowley, but he was not as fast as her. Both had their advantages and disadvantages.
On their current level, they were evenly matched.
That wasn’t enough, of course. They still had a long way to go. Virgus knew he could interrupt the fight at any moment – and he would soon. He wouldn’t let his grandchildren kill each other. But not yet. He let them exchange more blows. He let them feed their hatred.
She deserved to let all the anger she had been churning for weeks out. Crowley played dirty, after all. But at the same time, she deserved to be punished. Every wound Crowley inflicted on her wasn’t nearly enough to what she should actually suffer.
They fought with passion. Delightful, Virgus thought. Truly excellent. How incredible was to watch a fight so emotionally charged. How satisfying it was to know every attack had the intent to kill. No holding back. No mercy. As it should be.
The future of the family laid on their hands, after all. Virgus already knew that the other children had no chance to reach their level by then, nor the potential. Not everyone is born to be a conqueror.
But these two were.
Virgus just needed to pull their potential out. And there was no better way to harvest potential than by cultivating rivalry.
Finally, the old man decided they had enough.
He got in between them so fast that it almost looked like teleportation.
Virgus didn’t need to unsheathe his sword. He simply caught each of them by their forearms and threw them away in different directions.
Both of them hit opposite borders of the crater. The floor shook. Another cloud of smoke and debris.
It was over.
“Siblings should not kill each other,” Virgus said calmly. And yes, he was right; it was one of the fundamental rules of the family. But there was nothing wrong with trying.
Crowley got up first. He approached his grandfather at fast steps. His arm was turned in a weird direction, but he ignored it. There was a deep cut above his left eyebrow, covering that side of his face in blood.
“Grandfather, she broke several rules–“
“I know what she did.” Virgus cut him off. “I will take care of her punishment.”
“Father should be informed–“
“He will not.”
Crowley was taken aback before anger covered his face again.
“But this isn’t fair–“
Virgus looked down at him for the first time.
It was enough to make the young man swallow his next words.
“Are you trying to tell me what to do, child?”
“No, sir.” Crowley immediately looked down.
His granddaughter approached him as well.
Her steps were firm and fast. Blood dripped from her nose down her lips and chin. Her eyes, locked on Crowley the entire time. Virgus could feel it again, the hatred burning under her skin. At that moment, she wasn’t even intimidated by his presence. Excellent. Excellent. A conqueror’s soul does not bow.
She pointed her finger at Crowley.
“If you ever think of going to Goa Island,” her voice was ferocious. Like the roar of a tiger. It came from the depths of her soul, Virgus knew. “If you even think of getting anywhere near the Sambas Region, I will kill you. This is a promise, Crowley; I don’t care what happens to me later. But you will die first.”
Anyone would’ve trembled at the ferocity of that threat. That wasn’t his fourteen year old granddaughter speaking; that was the White Wolf, as she was already getting known in the underworld. A skilled assassin. Someone that had never failed.
But Crowley opened a mocking smirk.
Excellent.
A conqueror’s soul does not bow.
“You’re upset because I got an advantage over you. I found out about your weakness, and you don’t know mine… because I don’t have any.”
She stared at him in silence for some seconds.
Then – she smirked as well.
Poisonous. Dangerous. Threatening. Excellent. Most excellent.
Her next sentence took even Virgus by surprise.
“You didn’t find out about my weakness. You found out about my strength.”
She turned around and left.
Crowley left as well.
Soon, the crater was surrounded by servants that stood aside during the fight, analyzing the levels of damage. And along with them came the lady of the house.
Scilla looked around the destruction with quiet shock.
“What happened here?” She was calm and cold as usual despite the situation at hand.
Virgus closed his eyes for a moment and chuckled.
A dragon is bound to give birth to beasts. It had been decades since a new generation of Scapias were all predators.
The crow and the wolf would battle for the dragon’s territory.
And to think these two want her to waste her future with marriage, Virgus thought. Fools.
The future of the family was going to be interesting.
Virgus put his hands behind his back. “The kids fought. Siblings fight all the time. Nothing to worry about.”
He walked away.

Virgus broke her.
Over and over again. Repeatedly. Tirelessly. He broke her.
She was skilled. Landon taught her well. He built the foundations of her strength. But that wasn’t nearly enough. Anyone could hide their presence, kill an unsuspecting target. That’s not what he wanted of her. No.
He saw it, under the dirt and the mud; the underlying shine of the gem she was, waiting to be honed. A diamond right under their noses. She was born in the right time, in the right family, to hone that talent. How fortunate she was to be born a Scarpia.
But she needed to be lapidated. The gem needs to be cut, trimmed, polished, until it becomes an acceptable final product.
So Virgus broke her.
He broke her because he knew she could be fixed later. And when she was fixed, he broke her again. When she thought she had achieved something significant, he’d show her that no, that was not enough. She was not enough, not yet. So he broke her. Again, and again, and again.
Broke her body, because in order to get stronger, it needed to be broken first. Broke her spirit, because in order to get stronger, she needed to be away from any distractions, including – and most importantly – that boy. Broke her pride, because Virgus showed over and over again how insignificant and weak she was compared to him. How she didn’t stand a chance if he actually wanted to kill her. Because in order to get stronger, she needed to understand that.
The sea is full of monsters. But conquerors – these are just a few. If she wanted to sit at the same small, secluded table of a conqueror, she needed to be broken first.
Virgus broke her despite her betrothal, the condition that her body should be healthy for the marriage in the approaching years. No, he didn’t care – because she could always be fixed later. He inflicted pain, excruciating pain, and inflicted damage, but nothing that couldn’t be fixed.
Virgus broke her, until her targets became higher, higher, more difficult. Virgus broke her, until The White Wolf name made ripples through the sea, until that name – that title – began to inflict fear and respect. Virgus broke her, until her parents could no longer ignore the fact that she was being exclusively commissioned, forcing her to complete them, forcing her out of the shadows of this engagement.
He broke her, and she did not complain once. Not a tear, not a whine, not a cry. She wasn’t grateful, either, but Virgus didn’t care. When he looked deep into her eyes, he saw apathy. He saw resolve.
He saw hatred.
Delightful, Virgus thought. Truly excellent.

“I did not have this face I now wear…
I did not have these weakened hands…
I did not have this heart that barely shows itself…
I never noticed this change.”

The bar was disgusting.
An old structure made of wood and clay. The planks under your feet creaked as you stumbled in. You could feel the sole of your boots sticking with how dirty the floor was – layers and layers of spilled alcohol, sand, sea water, and probably vomit, too. The place smelled of vomit. And human sweat. And cheap rum. Round tables filled with lowly pirates, bandits, or beggars that managed to find a coin or two in exchange of some booze. It was loud. You never understood why men liked to talk so loud. Scandalous laughter, random shouts, heated arguments.
It was good, you thought. Noise, even if they worsened your headache. Something to forcefully stimulate your brain.
If you laid down in a silent place and let yourself rest, you knew you were going to die.
You stumbled to the restrooms at the back of the bar. Shoulders curved, your figure hidden under the black cloak, anyone would think you were just another drunk beggar; no one bat an eye at you. Thankfully. Two restrooms, for males and females, though you doubted anyone cared or respected the badly drawn plates. Each of them had space for a single person at once. You stumbled into one of them and locked the door.
The noise out there was muffled. Still very loud and irritating, but muffled – which allowed you to hear your own panting.
You stayed there, your back leaning against the door, for what seemed like an eternity.
Fuck.
It hurt. A fucking lot. It hurt, and it was hard to ignore it, even with the help of Heavenly Control. No; it was impossible to ignore it.
You didn’t even want to look at it. The thought made you want to vomit. But you had already vomited – there was nothing inside your stomach to put out anymore.
You gulped, and even this simple motion was difficult. If the floor wasn’t disgustingly wet with water and piss and probably worse things, you would’ve sat there. No. I still have some strength to my legs.
You searched for the light switch on your left. The sudden light hurt your eyes. Fuck, you didn’t want to look at it. You really didn’t.
But if you didn’t, if you let that as it was, you were certainly going to die.
So, slowly, you looked down to your stomach.
Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
The sight of your own blood was nothing new. Blood, in general, but specifically your blood. The wet, warm sensation of it dripping down your own skin. The smell of iron. It was so strong, even inside this filthy restroom.
The improvised bandages did little to not help in stanching the bleeding. You had ripped both sleeves of your white shirt and wrapped it around your torso – it was unsanitary and inappropriate, but you had nothing better at the moment. The previously white fabric was completely red now. The blood dripped down your stomach. If your pants weren’t black, you knew the left side of them would be red, too, the stain almost reaching your knee.
You needed to clean that. The wound.
Fuck.
It hurt to breathe.
You untied the knot. The drenched pieces of fabric fell on the floor with a gross splash. You lifted the tight black undershirt up to your chest, exposing your stomach and bra.
There.
A little under your left breast.
The gash.
At least twenty centimeters across your torso. Four or five centimeters wide, probably. It wasn’t a clean cut. The skin around it was ragged. That fucker used chainsaws as weapons. You were glad he didn’t make anything worse than that, actually; if your mind was a little less attentive, if your senses weren’t sharpened, if you were half a second slower, he would’ve sawed you in half.
Fucker. Fucker. You wished you could resurrect him, just so you could kill him again.
Usually, you didn’t feel anything for your targets. Apathy was a good ally during a fight. But you couldn’t not feel it for that man, not after he got so close to killing you. Closer than anyone ever got.
The gash in your torso wasn’t the only wound he inflicted, but it was the most serious. It still bled. You heard the gross sound your destroyed skin made every time you breathed; the sticky noise of blood, of ripped flesh. And there was something else, too, something you’d been trying hard to ignore – that little white peeking from the red flesh, right under your left breast, a rib–
You needed water. Clean water. That’s why you entered the bar in the first place.
It takes some seconds of courage, of gathering strength on your legs, to push yourself from the door and stand in front of the sink. A broken, dirty mirror sat above it, but you avoided looking at your miserable face at that moment. You opened the faucet. Your hand was bloody, so everywhere you touched got bloody, too. Running water. Clean water.
There’s the running water, there’s your difficult breath, there’s the loud voices out there. Loud, because men don’t know how to speak quietly, especially when they’re among themselves. Masculine environments are always so loud, so aggressive. You put your fingertips under the faucet. The water was cold.
“There are only seven of ‘em now.” A loud, deep, annoying male voice said out there, from the group sitting closer to the restrooms.
There was a small leather bag hanging from your hip. You usually didn’t carry a lot of stuff with you. The roll of gauze was almost finished. You had already used so much to bandage the other wounds around your body. You took a peace of it and put it under the faucet.
“Who woulda thought, huh? That the great Stork would have an end like that.” Another male voice. “Ships n’ ships sailing to his territory right now. Everyone want a piece of it.”
You took a deep breath. One, two, and then stopped breathing when the cold gauze touched your ripped skin. The piece was immediately drenched in red. You cleaned it the best way you could before taking another piece and repeating the process.
A mocking cackle. “As if any of them have a chance. So close to Dressrosa? Huh. Doflamingo’s fleet’s probably there, already. Claiming everything to himself. Greedy bastard.”
That first voice, the first men, hummed in a knowing way. “Streets are saying he killed Stork, y’know.”
“That’s not what the paper says.”
“You believe in the paper? Dumbass. ‘Course they not gon’ tell the truth.” He chuckled darkly. “Flamingo’s been eyeing his territory for years. Errbody knows it.”
It hurt. It bled. Fuck, fuck. You didn’t have anymore gauze. The sink looked like a crime scene. It’s just pain. I can deal with it. I can deal with it. I can.
You took the roll of bandages you stole from someone on your way to the bar. It looked clean enough, better than a dirty ripped sleeve, at least. You were used to bandaging yourself. Your limbs worked almost automatically, careful not to touch the gash and the – shit – the bone peeking through it.
“But that would be too blunt, wouldn’t it? Would risk his position as a Warlord.”
Another mocking huff. “You know nothin’, do you? When I say he did it, I don’t mean he did it. Or any of his people. He got the paper to tell anyone else to do it for him.”
Careful, careful. The roll was enough to take three turns around your torso – but that was still not nearly enough to stop the bleeding, not nearly enough to protect the wound from a possible – most certain – infection. It wasn’t not enough, and you needed Landon. He didn’t accompany you in your missions anymore, because you did not need protection or guidance. It was great, to not have him around all the time anymore, but you needed him right now, so you took the little Den Den Mushi from the bag and rang.
While the little snail rang, while the people out there still talked and shouted and laughed, you finally pushed the hood of the cloak off your head and looked at your own reflection.
You looked like a mess. The type of mess that means, I’ve been severely injured, I am suffering from extreme blood loss, I will probably need a transfusion. There was not a sign of pride, or triumph, after winning over a strong opponent – the strongest up until then. Grandfather was stronger, of course, but grandfather had never tried to actually kill you. No matter how heavy the training was, you knew he wouldn’t kill you.
You remembered Luffy’s saying of how facing a strong opponent was fun and exciting. You could not sympathize with that. You never sympathized with that.
Would you ever?
Probably not. There was no pride in this business. Just work. Just a successful commission that almost got you killed.
But successful, anyway, and this one would put you above Crowley.
There was a bit of satisfaction in that. But not nearly enough. Maybe the pain in your whole body prevented you from feeling anything positive, or this filthy restroom.
A bar, like Partys Bar, in the other side of the world. Makino always made sure to keep the restrooms squeaky clean. It was impressive, her dedication in keeping a bar clean. And you remembered that it’d been a year and a half since you’d last been there, but it felt like so much more; it felt like a lifetime ago since you ate chocolate cake with her and the Mayor and Luffy, where you could hear the waves crashing and the fresh air after a stormy night.
A lifetime ago.
Was Foosha Village the same, you wondered? It hadn’t changed much in the years you visited. Probably not.
Did Luffy change a lot?
He always looked a bit different every time you saw him. A little bit taller, a little less chubbier. But his smile and his sense of humor and his warmth and his energy stayed the same. Was he holding up well without Ace? Was he practicing everyday?
Stupid questions, of course. He definitely was. These things about him would never change.
You’d changed, however.
Not only because you got taller, or because you had a different haircut, or because your body and your face didn’t look like a child’s anymore, or because you got undoubtedly stronger. There was something about you that changed. Not in a good way. Irreparably so.
It’s the color, you knew. It was absent from your life. Everything was black and white and gray.
The way it was before you met him.
And maybe it’s a bit insane on your part how seeing someone once a year changed your perspective in life so much. How it made you have a goal, a purpose to keep putting up with all of this. The family, the business. How the prospective of seeing him again for a week or so was the equivalent of seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
There was no light anymore, or warmth, or sun. Your life didn’t have space for playfulness, giggles, sweets, or relaxation – not even for a week. And in the rare moments when you weren’t under intense training with your grandfather, when you were sent on a commission – they were getting rarer, more difficult, more expensive – without Landon’s supervision, you couldn’t even bring yourself to appreciate anything.
Not that there was anything to appreciate inside the filthy restroom of a bar with an open wound in your body, of course.
But it’s alright.
You had endured a year and a half without him already. You just needed to endure for a year and a half more. Then, you’d both be seventeen; then, you’d meet him again.
It’s alright.
No biggie, as he said.
You were stronger. It wasn’t enough, still; you had to get even stronger. Not only because you wanted to meet him again. Not even just because you hated Crowley with every fiber of your being and wanted, needed to be better than him in every aspect. No; you needed to be stronger for yourself. Yes, yourself. Stronger, so grandfather wouldn’t be able to defeat you. Or any of your brothers. Or even your father.
Stronger, so no one would stand in your way.
And that was enough motivation. A light at the end of the tunnel.
Alright.
No biggie.
Landon finally picked up the call, right when someone started to bang on the door aggressively. You told him the coordinates. Your voice was quiet and “normal”, but Landon knew you enough to understand you were not okay. You knew he’d be here quickly. Yes, you could trust him.
It hurt, and it bled, but it would be alright, because you could be fixed. You were always fixed in the end. Just a year and a half more. That’s it.
Alright.
No biggie.

If you made a list of people you hated the most, Ichiji would rank second.
Which was an achievement, to make you hate him over your other brothers that had actually tried to kill you more than once, since you only saw him once a year or so. He was the opposite of Luffy – meeting once a year, filling you with irreparable loathing.
You despised him. Truly.
Rude, arrogant, violent, despicable. There was not a good adjective to describe him, other than his physical beauty – but it was all destroyed by the rest. You recognized that he was attractive as a fact, not as a compliment. Nothing in the world would make you like him.
He was eighteen years old now, and did not resemble the lanky boy you met all these years ago. Over 1,80m tall and muscular; a strong jawline, plump lips, a surprisingly feminine upturned nose, the same as Reiju. They all looked alike, in fact (duh), and it honestly made you wonder where did they take that beauty from, since Judge looked like a blonde raccoon that grew too much and had been beaten with a bat.
You could almost excuse his stupid swirled eyebrow. Almost.
Ichiji hid his eyes behind thin sunglasses now. He probably thought it made him look mysterious, but you couldn’t help but roll your eyes whenever you saw these stupid sunglasses and his stupid red hair and his stupid red military uniform. He was a Commander, now, along with his siblings. The stupid color coded siblings. Ugh.
You were so immensely grateful for your mask in times like these. No one saw your eye rolls, your disgusted expression; you didn’t have to hold back, the way you always held back around your family. Around your grandfather.
You always avoided speaking as much as possible during these “family meetings” – not that anyone bothered, of course, since it was always the men speaking about war or whatever other manly topic you could not give two shits about. Food was always nice, at least, but eating with this mask on was still a pain in the ass, so you could never really enjoy anything.
You’d been nervous about this specific meeting, however. Because Ichiji was eighteen already.
An adult by Germa’s laws – and most of the world followed this same law, too, though it wasn’t something certified by the World Government. Eighteen.
A legal adult. Ready to get married.
And he was a prince, and Germa was a fucking oligarchy, which meant the Vinsmokes could bend the laws to their will however they liked it. Which meant Ichiji was an adult, but if their spouse was at least two years younger – even if it meant they weren’t a legal adult yet - , the law would accept their marriage.
So you were very, very close to your doom.
You spent months tracing plans of action. You had enough money of your own – money you managed to hide from the family vaults, in international banks around the world. If this meeting had the objective to set a definite date for your wedding… you’d run away. Even if you weren’t powerful enough to fight your family – not yet. Even if it meant you’d have to fight your way out. You were not getting married to that man, not now, not ever–
But turns out, surprisingly, Judge himself brought the good news.
Germa was at war (they were always at war, goddamnit) with some country you didn’t care enough to know the name. It was the Vinsmoke children’s first time as Commanders of the army, which meant they were extremely busy, which meant they had to show off to the population of the North Blue as much as possible to increase their reputation, which meant it was an inappropriate moment for a wedding ceremony.
And you were so relieved that you almost could excuse Judge’s ugly mustache. Almost.
You wished this war would last long years, until you realized the thought was a bit too cruel even for an assassin.
After dinner was over, you found a way to escape their attention – you always did, and thankfully no one noticed your presence enough to care – to some empty balcony of the royal castle. You wanted to smoke – your fingers were almost shaking for it – but you couldn’t take your mask off here, and you didn’t bring a pack with you, so in order to not freak out in front of everyone, you looked for loneliness.
It was chilly, that night. Not a cloud in the sky; the full moon shone beautifully, painting everything in silver shades. You leaned on the marble railings of the balcony and breathed the oceanic fresh air. Germa was so… sterile. Bland. Black flags with the 66 symbol waved with the wind everywhere. There were guards everywhere, too, and you knew many of them paid close attention to you, even though your eyes didn’t see them. Observation Haki worked full time, now, thanks to your training. It was automatic, like a switch in your brain was on all the time.
...Everything about you was automatic, these days. More than you remembered it used to be before him.
An involuntary sigh grew within your chest.
Did… did Luffy miss you the way you missed him, you wondered? Did he think about you often?
You’d been… avoiding to think about him more recently. Yes, seeing him again was one of the goals for why you’d been enduring all of this – but on the other hand, thinking too much about him made everything more painful than it should be.
Not just him, but everything that came along. Quiet evenings. Hot midday sun. The humidity of Mt. Colubo. The animals, the insects, the plants.
...How long has it been since you last touched one of your sketchbooks?
You didn’t have time for any of that. Not under grandfather’s training. When you were not out in commissions, you were with him; isolated. You could not let your guard down around him. You could not relax, or rest, or let your mind wander around. You learned what happens if you did in the worst way possible.
You had scars now – and of course, you had scars before, but there were so many more now. Your arms, now hidden in elbow length black gloves, carried many thin scars from the cuts he inflicted. Virgus’ black katana, Tsubasa, was your close friend now. You knew its blade better than you knew yourself.
And you knew these things were making you undoubtedly stronger. You felt stronger. Anonymous commissioners looked for The White Wolf. You didn’t bother with lowly targets anymore; it was rare of you to even wander out of the Grand Line, where all the power in the world actually stayed. Your paywall rose from a hundred million to four hundred million in less than a year, and by the way things were going, it’d keep rising. Only you and (ugh) Crowley had such a high paywall for commissions at this point.
Urso, Saqr, the twins… you knew they hated and resented you both. But now, you didn’t hear threats coming from them anymore. They knew better. And then there was Ariadne, your younger sister. The last Scarpia child. But she was only five, hadn’t been initiated yet… and you didn’t pay much attention to her, honestly.
Yes, your training, the way you’d been carrying your life was making you stronger. It was worth it.
But it also made you miserable. Which is something you shouldn’t consider, given the Scarpia lifestyle. You shouldn’t seek for happiness. You shouldn’t seek for comfort, or friendship, or an easy life.
But you wanted to see Luffy again anyway.
Another deep sigh.
Fuck. You wanted a cigarette, too.
You were grounded back in reality when a new presence approached.
And you instinctively rolled your eyes so much that you almost saw the inside of your skull.
“Disappointed, my dear bride? Are you so sad you wanted to be left alone to cry?”
You turned around – even though you didn’t want to, but keeping your back turned to Ichiji was never a good idea.
His cynical smirk and his carefree demeanor were infuriating. You hated his uniform, and you hated the way he walked with his hands in the front pockets of his pants, and you hated these sunglasses, and you hated the way he had the audacity to even approach you.
You did not answer him.
Ichiji stopped a few steps from you, his smirk slowly increasing.
“Oh, I love how obedient you already are. Never talking back to me. I enjoy silence the most, darling, so it’s good you’re already used to it. The only sounds you’ll be allowed to make are the screaming and begging for help.”
You still did not answer him.
Ichiji tilted his head to the side. He always tried to make you fall for his provocations. You always resigned yourself to silence. Since he couldn’t physically hurt you, he tried to do it with words, or make you so angry that you’d finally lash out. You wouldn’t indulge him.
He hummed.
“You know, I think I don’t care if you keep this mask after we get married.” And you hated, hated, hated the way he purposefully let his stupid glasses fall to the bridge of his nose so you could see his blue eyes eating you. The way he measured you from head to toe, slowly, in a way that made you want to push him off the balcony. “Don’t really care if the face’s ugly. Just don’t gain weight, will ya?”
You still did not answer him.
Ichiji snorted and put his sunglasses back in place. He took one step closer.
“This only applies until I put a baby in you, of course. After you give me an heir… I will fulfill my promise.” He leaned in your direction and dropped his voice lower. “You haven’t forgotten, have you?”
I will beat you up so bad that you won’t ever get to walk again. I will make you swallow this mask. This is a promise.
You haven’t forgotten.
Slowly, you turned your head in his direction – just to make him sense that you were looking at him, not just your eyes.
“You haven’t forgotten my promise either. Have you?”
Your voice was quiet, freezing cold like frost. You wouldn’t waste energy screaming at him. But he felt it, and you were so immensely satisfied that he did; the way you saw him take a more serious instance, how his body tensed up almost imperceptibly. Ichiji knew you were no defenseless maiden. He knew about your fame, about what you had done past year, and the fact that he still didn’t have great achievements of his own made him hate you. Envy you. You knew it. You’d been dealing with jealousy and rivalry your entire life.
If you try to touch me again, I will kill you.
That was your promise to him.
You could feel his anger and apprehension crackling under his skin. And yet, Ichiji resigned himself to opening a strained smirk. He wouldn’t try to do anything; he couldn’t. Quietly, you wondered how your fight would go if he actually tried something. Ichiji was half human, half machine – perhaps more machine than human. He was anything but weak.
The fight would be interesting, you thought. Maybe one day you’d finally have the chance to rip his heart off his ribcage.
But not today.
“I can’t wait for us to get married.” This otherwise innocent sentence sounded like a threat.
Shit.
You had to find a way out of this situation before his wish could come true.

Smoking became a habit before you even realized it.
A small way to rebel against the family’s rules, perhaps. You must always take care of your health. Which was already stupid to begin with – smoking wasn’t allowed, but being beaten up by your own grandfather wasn’t considered unhealthy? What were these standards?
A cloud formed in front of your face as you exhaled the smoke. Night had fallen over the busy city; it looked like an infinite labyrinth of little lights down there, from the open window you stood near. You still had a few minutes before security noticed something wrong happened. Yet, you were not in a hurry.
“Why aren’t you wearing your mask?”
You looked over your shoulder.
Ariadne stood quietly a few steps away from you. Her little face was hidden behind a mask with four holes for eyes and patterns that resembled webs. Though you couldn’t see her expression, by her tone, you knew she was frowning.
Indeed, you had pushed your mask aside. “Because I’m smoking.”
“But what if someone sees you?”
“No one is nearby to see me. There are no Video Den Den Mushis, either.”
She went silent for some moments.
“Why aren’t you wearing the uniform?”
Ariadne wore hers – the standard: skirt and jacket in black, white button shirt, white socks and black leather dress shoes, the only color being the red scorpion crest on the right side of her chest. You, on the other hand, wore a burgundy pinafore dress with a pleated skirt and a fitted bodice, with subtle ruffles on the shoulder straps. Underneath, a long-sleeved white blouse and a black ribbon tie around your neck. Knee high, chunky combat boots on your feet – these were more for action than fashion, just like the black gloves you always wore when working. A beret with the same color of the dress completed the look, but it was inside your small purse at the moment, as you couldn’t wear it if you had the mask on.
“Because I like to look cute,” you explained in a nonchalant tone. “And the family uniform isn’t cute.”
Ariadne went silent again.
Colors were pretty much forbidden within the family. When you weren’t around them, however, you’d immediately change into something more colorful and girly. It was also another small way to rebel. Scarpia assassins are supposed to be devoid of any personality traits; you refused. You liked to spend money on clothes and you liked to wear jewelry and you liked to feel pretty.
You smoked the last drag of the cigarette and dropped it on the floor, squeezing the sole of your shoe over it. It burned the carpet underneath.
Finally, you looked at her again.
Ariadne.
She turned six a week ago. You still remembered the first time you accompanied your brother on a commission: Urso was nine then. You were the same age as her. You remember seeing Urso struggle against his target, and he punched you in the stomach so hard that you vomited when you pointed it out. Other than that, the whole thing was pretty boring.
Ariadne was so much shorter than you.
Which is a stupid thing to realize. She was six. Obviously.
Six years old.
And she had just witnessed you murder a man.
The body was sprawled over the carpet in the middle of the office. It was an easy commission; it had been a while since you took down an untrained target like that. You knew it was because she would accompany you – an easier, safer target, as Ariadne would be in danger if you faced your usual commissions.
You didn’t want her to be here at first. Why you? Just because you were the only other girl in the family? Yeah, that was probably the reason.
The only other girl in the family.
Six years old.
You watched her in silence.
Ariadne stood obediently. Her posture was perfect. She did not move. A six year old child not moving. A six year old that already knew death, was intimate with its concept – the same way you were introduced to killing before you could properly speak.
That little thing was your sister.
It was a bit stupid of you to have this epiphany at that moment. You had six siblings and you actively ignored all of them. There was no family bond between you, no love – the only bond that kept you together was that of the blood and the anger.
But Ariadne was your little sister. The only other girl in the family. And she was ten years younger than you. What could she know and understand about the world?
Just blood and anger? The same way you were taught – until you went to Goa Island for the first time and found out there was so much more than that?
You remembered how pointless and boring life was before all that. You remembered how you envied Reiju and her pretty pink dress the first time you met her, while you had to wear the plain Scarpia attire instead.
You sighed heavily. Ariadne moved slightly, as if she received an electric shock. You noticed for the first time that you made her nervous.
Finally, you took the beret from inside your small pouch and put it on your head. You looked at your reflection in a mirror nearby and adjusted your hair before turning to her.
“Let’s go.”
Ariadne hesitated.
“Let’s go where?”
You walked out of the room. She followed shortly, running to match your pace. Her personal butler – a bald man you didn’t bother to know the name – followed as well.
“Young Mistresses, we must go back to the ship–“
“Don’t follow us.” Your tone was dry. You didn’t bother to look back at him or to slow your pace. The butler was taken aback. You could feel Ariadne’s surprise.
“Young Mistress, I must ask where you are going.”
“None of your business.”
“You are not allowed to do anything that isn’t involved with the completion of the commission.”
You stopped abruptly.
For the first time, you turned around to look at him.
“Are you arguing with me?”
You didn’t raise your voice, because you almost never did. Serenity and calm as usual. But he felt it, and you knew that he felt it – the frost in his veins, his throat getting dry, the hole in his stomach. The danger.
The butler gulped and looked down, avoiding your gaze obediently.
“No, Young Mistress.”
You still stared at him for some more seconds. “Wait for us in the harbor.” You turned around and walked down the corridor. “A word to the main house and consider yourself dead.”
Ariadne followed you quickly. You both entered the elevator.
It was silent for a few seconds.
“You can take your mask off after we leave the building.”
She hesitated.
“What are we going to do?”
“Buy you something cute.”
Ariadne didn’t say anything.
But you felt through your Haki that she was excited – and that, for some reason, made you open a small smile.

Tigerlily Island was a piece of golden heaven on the second half of the Grand Line. Home to many banks, casinos, hotels and entertainment zones; it was the land of the wealthy – i.e., the land of money laundering. Scarpia Family itself had a bank of its own in the island and a few businesses that were not only profitable, but also managed to clean most of the money coming from commissions. Tigerlily was a den of white collar crimes. As it involved billions and billions or berries circulating every day, the World Government was willing to turn a blind eye to it (as it was given a very generous “donation” monthly, of course).
It also happened to be surprisingly peaceful. Not only was it controlled with iron fists by a single mafia, the Tigers, there was a sense of camaraderie in the air. No one wanted to be snitched on. All of these criminals came with their treasure chests to make more profit, or lose everything in the casinos, or simply have a good time.
There was a murder that night, however. The owner of a bank. But as he died with his secrets, no one really bothered.
It also had really nice malls.
Ariadne was a bit spooked. She’d never been in such a crowded place before, and being without her mask scared her, but she got slowly used to it. You hopped from store to store. She didn’t really know what to do with herself, or which clothes to pick, and she was still nervous in your presence. You just let her pick whatever she wanted, even if nothing really matched or made much sense.
“I’m not allowed to eat ice cream.” She mumbled when the waitress brought a large ice cream cup with extra chocolate topping, even if her eyes gleamed at the sight. Bags and bags rested around your legs. It was way past midnight, and yet the mall was still crowded; Tigerlily never slept.
“Who said that?”
“Bill.” That was probably her butler. You looked around.
“Is Bill here?”
“...No.”
“So.” You shrugged and took a spoonful of your own ice cream.
Ariadne tried not to smile as she took a bit of hers.
Like everywhere else in Tigerlily, the ice cream parlor was unnecessarily decorated with gold. If it wasn’t golden, then it was pink. Tables were filled with couples and families; the air smelled sweet, which brought you memories.
Luffy would like it here. There are so many things to do.
You sighed and rested your cheek on your knuckles, looking at nowhere in particular. Just a few months more.
Ariadne eyed you silently.
When you quirked your brow at her, she stiffened and whipped her eyes back to the ice cream.
“You can ask me stuff if you want to.”
She stiffened again at your voice, as if hit by an electric shock. Thinking back on it… have you ever sat down to talk to her before? Well. No. You didn’t even know she could speak until a while ago. Ariadne had good vocabulary for a six year old, in fact; you also knew she already could read and write perfectly, though this wasn’t a great achievement for a Scarpia.
There were other kids in the ice cream parlor. All restless, loud, laughing, stuttering, their mouths and the collar of their clothes dirty with ice cream.
Ariadne sat in front of you quietly, always avoiding your gaze. All adult-like and polite.
Again, it made you feel something weird.
You waited until she gathered some courage to speak.
And yet, at that moment, your senses sharpened.
Your Haki. It took in a new presence nearby. While everyone else in the area felt like lit matches, this presence felt like a torch.
Someone strong.
A strong presence is always something to note, regardless if it feels aggressive or not. You looked over your shoulder towards the shop’s glass doors; the sidewalk out there was packed.
“What’s wrong?” Ariadne asked in a tense tone, noticing your sudden change in behavior. You didn’t answer; instead, waited.
Waited.
The presence was coming closer, its heat spreading around the street.
Closer.
The presence walked past the ice-cream parlor; you watched through the glass doors.
Your heart rate spiked.
“Wait here.” You told Ariadne without looking back, standing in a jump and rushing towards the doors.
The sidewalk was crowded – and yet, you could only see that single person, as if your sight could not focus on anyone else.
“Ace!”
He stopped on his tracks.
The man turned around with a frown at first. It didn’t take long for him to spot you.
His face immediately brightened with a grin.
“Wolfie?!”
A cackle erupted from within you; one so odd, already so unfamiliar – something you haven’t felt in years. Something involuntary that pulled you off your well-controlled state, turning off autopilot.
Because that was Ace.
He rushed towards you, laughing, his dark eyes brightening up the same way his lips did. He loosely carried a bag over his shoulder, but dropped it immediately as soon as he got close enough. Ace put both hands over your shoulders and measured you up and down.
“What the hell! I can’t believe it!” He giggled excitedly. “Look at you! You’re all grown up now!”
You giggled as well, suddenly feeling a tiny bit bashful. Ace was also very different from what you remembered: he was even taller, more muscular than before – which was hard to ignore, since he was shirtless, choosing to just wear black jeans shorts and boots. His wavy hair seemed a tad bit longer than what you remembered. Now, he wore a light brown cowboy hat with two smiley faces. A necklace of red beads sat around his neck, which immediately made you remember Dadan. His skin was much tanner now; he always had freckles on the bridge of his nose and cheeks, but now they had spread towards his shoulders as well, a testament of someone who lived with the sun, salt and sea.
Ace looked like a proper man now, not a teenager. And just by looking at him, you could see some things have changed inside of him, too – and not just in terms of power.
“Of course, it’s been three years!”
Ace nodded. “I was thinking about you these days. But I’d never imagine I’d find you in a place like this! What are you doing here?”
“I’m–” Oh. You looked back at the ice cream parlor. “I’m with my sister.”
“Sister? You have a sister?!” You must’ve mentioned at some point that you had siblings, but you and Ace have never actually talked too much about your life – and you doubted he’d remember anyway. Regardless, he seemed excited for some reason.
“C’mon. You want some ice cream?”
He huffed and crouched down to take his bag again. “And you even ask?”
You decided to move to the outside tables in the balcony for a bit more privacy – probably because Ace’s gigantic back tattoo was attracting way too much attention. Not that he cared.
Ariadne was more than surprised to see him walking in.
“Who’s this little princess?” Ace crouched down to get to her eye level. You were a bit surprised as well at the way his tone softened… have you ever heard him speaking like that before? Not with you or Luffy, at least. “Hah, she looks like your tiny clone, Wolfie!”
Ariadne looked between you and him with widened eyes and warm cheeks. She sent you a subtle questioning gaze – Wolfie? – before looking at him again.
Then, she stiffened.
“...Nice to meet you. My name is…” She thought for two seconds. “...Spidey.”
You chuckled. Smart girl.
Ace quirked one eyebrow. “Y’alls parents have a thing for animals, huh?”
“They do.” And it wasn’t even a lie.
Ace politely offered his hand for her to shake. “My name is Ace. Nice to meet you, too.”
She got even more flustered.
As the three of you settled and Ace asked for every single ice cream flavor available – the waitress looked panicked – you observed him quietly. You felt so stupidly giddy. That was Ace! After three years! He was a little piece of what you cherished most, part of the things that made you happiest in this world. And even though you thought you’d never see him again, there he was.
You eyed the tattoo on his upper left biceps – ASCE;the message behind that S was pretty obvious, so you decided to not mention it. The other tattoo, however…
“Gotta be honest. I never thought you were the type to sail under someone else’s flag.”
Ace smiled with his cheeks full of strawberry ice cream, looking surprised. “You heard about it?”
“Course I did. You’re famous.”
He shrugged. “I used to think the same, too. But things change. Whitebeard will be the King of the Pirates!”
It was surprising to hear that coming from his mouth. As far as you knew, Ace didn’t have the same ambition as Luffy… but he seemed rather supportive of his brother’s dream. Well. As he said – things change.
There was also the fact that joining the Whitebeard Pirates made Ace pretty… untouchable, in a way. Many people wanted him dead. You knew commissioners were willing to pay millions for his head. But Scarpia had a rule – and that was of putting the safety of the family above anything else. To incite the anger of an Emperor of the Sea by killing one of his pirates would not keep the family safe. Now that you were next to Ace, however, you thought this wouldn’t be a problem to him, even if the family took him as a target: Ace was strong. He deserved that 500 million bounty and the fame.
But you weren’t going to tell him that.
“So.” Ace said excitedly, turning his body in your direction. His eyes beamed – and a part of you already knew what was coming. “How’s Luffy doing? Is the idiot okay?”
And, just like that, it was like he popped a balloon inside of you.
You crossed your arms and avoided his gaze. Your smile faltered, even if you didn’t plan it.
“I… haven’t been visiting him, Ace.”
His shoulders dropped.
“What happened? Don’t tell me you guys fought.”
“No! It’s nothing like that.” You massaged the nape of your neck awkwardly. “I had some… family problems.”
Ariadne stared down at her ice cream glass.
Ace rested his cheek on his palm and hummed. “That sucks.”
“Yeah. I’m sorry.”
“Why are you apologizing?”
“Well. You asked me that, back then…”
Ace huffed and waved his hand dismissively. “Oh, that? Don’t worry about it! Luffy is a crybaby, but he’s also tough. He’ll live.” He then smiled once more. “He’ll set sail in a few months, too, right? So you’ll get to meet again!”
You nodded, feeling that balloon inflate inside of you again. “Yeah, I hope so.”
Just the thought of seeing Luffy again made you fuzzy inside, which made you feel a bit pathetic. You looked at Ace again, desperate to divert his attention from you. “So, what have you been up to? Besides joining the crew of an Emperor, I mean.”
Ace beamed.
You soon discovered that he was much more chill now, compared to the grumpy boy you met years ago. His smiles were easy, his tone always welcoming and warm. You noticed he was developing slight wrinkles on the outer corner of his eyes, both due to sun exposure and simply because he smiled too much. Ace gesticulated a lot, happy to share his experiences with you – and even happier when he found out you’d been to the same places (though in the span of three years, he’d already been to more islands than you).
Of course – your stories weren’t nearly as exciting. To you, it was always just work; going to a place, completing a commission, going back home. Meanwhile, Ace would go on to say how he befriended this or that guy, stayed at that forest and that city, fought this or that pirate. He was a great story teller, too.
It made you both happy and sad.
Happy for him. Ace was never meant to stay in Goa. His life belonged to the seas – and it was obvious how accomplished he felt, as if the invisible weight that held him back was lifted. Ace was happy, and his happiness was contagious, as if he was an actual torch, enlightening his surroundings and spreading warmth.
Sad for yourself. Which was horrible. Self-pitying is disgusting and pathetic. But you couldn’t not feel the slight sting in your heart when you compared his life to yours. His freedom. You barely talked about yourself, because all you had to say involved your training and your commissions… nothing worth bragging about.
Just a few more months. Just a few more months.
Ariadne watched Ace speak with glow in her eyes. It was a bit funny, because you could relate exactly with what she was feeling.
“...but that was a bit after I left Wano.”
Ariadne widened her eyes slightly. “You’ve been to Wano?”
“Yep!” Ace slurped the last drop of his chocolate milkshake. Now the table was filled with empty cups of ice cream. She’d been keeping quiet for most of the time, so her sudden question took you off guard. “You know it?”
She looked down sheepishly. “...I’ve read about it in books.”
You could see this was a topic of her interest. Wano was a mystery to the entire world, as a secluded country under the rule of an Emperor. Simply off limits to most. You haven’t even gotten close to it yourself. It was definitely impressive that Ace managed to break into its borders.
Ace opened a soft smile and rested his chin on his knuckles. Ariadne got even more flustered.
“You remind me of a friend I met there, you know?”
“A… friend?” She fiddled with her fingers nervously.
“Yeah. Her name’s Tama. I bet you’d get along well.” He nodded as if he just had an idea. “When you go to Wano, tell her you’re friends with Ace! She’ll get super excited!”
Ariadne got more flustered.
“...Are we friends?” She was taken aback.
“Yeah!” He offered her his fist.
She hesitantly fist bumped him and immediately retracted her arm – but she could not hide the tiny smile in her lips.
Ace giggled and looked back at you. “She’s so much like you.”
“You think so?”
He hummed. “In appearance, at least. You were more annoying.” Ace poked Ariadne’s side, making her giggle for the first time (had you ever seen that girl giggle before?) and pointed at you with his thumb. “D’you know that, Spidey? Your sister here was a pain in the ass. You’re much nicer.”
“What? You were annoying!” You punched his arm jokingly and laughed. “You were a prick, in fact.”
He gasped in a dramatic way and put his hand over his chest. “Me?! A prick?! But I’m the nicest guy in the world! Tell her, Spidey!”
Ariadne laughed a bit louder.
And at that moment, something familiar filled you.
The sound of laughter, of Ace’s loud voice and Ariadne’s sheepish giggling. The smell of sweets and the aftertaste of ice cream in your tongue. The city full of life around you, the gentle night breeze.
You were happy for the first time since that afternoon when you said goodbye.
It felt nice.

The sun was already rising when Ace said goodbye.
He ruffled Ariadne’s hair (making her blush) and hugged you (making you blush. He’d never done that before. And he was still shirtless). Ace was definitely someone different now.
“I told you, remember? That we’d end up bumping into each other in the New World.”
“Yeah.” It was your turn to fiddle with your fingers nervously. You were still not great with goodbyes. “So… until next time, I guess?”
“Let’s meet again sooner this time!” He grinned mischievously. “Luffy will be out in the sea soon. We should all meet up and beat his ass, now that we’re both stronger than him!”
You laughed and nodded. The idea sounded funny enough. “Agreed!”
You watched Ace go, waving back at you two excitedly, with a big smile plastered over his face. Ariadne waved back with smaller movements. You stood there until he disappeared amid the crowd – but you could still feel him, the torch, brighter and warmer than anyone else in that island.
Just imagining you, Luffy and Ace reunited – this nicer Ace – was enough to make you smile.
But for now, it was time to go back to your life. You weren’t free yet, and you already abused your luck for the day.
“Let’s go.” You told Ariadne, picking some bags from the floor while she took others. It felt like each step you took away from Ace made the colors of life fade bit by bit.
Fuck.
You lit a cigarette while balancing the bags on your other arm.
“He’s weird.” Ariadne said after a while.
“You think so?”
She looked down with a thoughtful expression. “When you go to Wano, he said. As if I’d ever go there.”
You took a drag and quirked one eyebrow. “But you want to go there, right?” Her expression softened. She looked to her sides, as if afraid anyone would see her nod. Unfortunately, you understood her apprehension very well. “So why would you never go?”
Ariadne looked up at you for the first time as if you were insane. “Because I can’t.”
“You weren’t supposed to be out in the city shopping past midnight, were you? But here we are.” You shrugged.
“But that’s because I’m with you.”
“So, if you want to go to Wano, you have to be strong like me.”
That made her think. After a while, she nodded, because that made sense in her head. Of course it made sense. That’s the Scarpia way of life: strength is the only answer.
Yet, at the same time, it made you think of Ariadne – six years old, small, quiet and introspective, having to go through everything you’d been through in order to get stronger.
You didn’t like that.
Something inside you wished she’s just be able to do whatever she wanted without facing any pain.
You are a Scarpia. Life will never be kind to you.
That was the reality she was chained to – and there was nothing you could do about it.
For now, having some nice clothes and ice cream at inappropriate hours would have to suffice.

➛ 17
You were destroyed.
Arms, legs, head, stomach. Everything hurt. Your limbs were bandaged. Each movement sent waves of pain through your body. It’d been days, but you still couldn’t eat.
None of that mattered anymore, because a News Coo dropped the paper from the sky.
And in between the pages, there was a new bounty warning.
It felt almost supernatural that you caught the newspaper before any of the butlers could. How it fell on your hands. How that warning slipped from between the pages and you crouched down to take it.
The moment your eyes laid on it – the pain was gone.
All the things that hurt you, that made you feel miserable, grandfather’s training, everything – everything was brushed aside. The uncontrollable laughter that erupted from your chest, the shaking of your fingertips, your increased heartbeat.
Everything else was little, easy to ignore.
It was him. Him, grinning in that photo. His name, his bounty of 30 million.
And for a moment, you felt silly for wondering for the past months if he really would set sail, if he’d still keep that dream. Many things can change in three years. What if he had changed his mind? What if he decided to lead his life in another path and you’d simply never meet him again?
You should’ve never doubted him.
That same day, you accepted a commission in Paradise.

Tracking them down wouldn’t be hard if you weren’t forbidden to see him.
You could get information on anyone from any known corner of the world if you wanted; you just needed to make a call. But that would slip into Crowley’s ears and you couldn’t risk that. So, taking advantage over the fact that no butler followed you anymore, you took your time to investigate their whereabouts.
Fortunately, he made it pretty easy for you.
Once again, you felt an involuntary fit of laughter escape when you found another bounty warning – this time, glued to the wall of a bar. The entire city was talking about it: how this newbie pirate and his crew defeated a Warlord. Because of course Luffy would defeat a Warlord less than a year into his career.
Judging by the place they were last seen, there were three possible islands that their Log Pose could lead them.
You chose one based purely on instinct.
It was a small city with markets and fairs – the perfect place to replenish supplies. It had many harbors which were always packed with ships, including ships from the Marine. The economy of that island was solely based on it. Albeit small, the city had a constant crowd of travelers. It wasn’t particularly pretty, but the constant summer weather was nice.
You had arrived past night, slept in the simple room of an inn. Some wounds in your torso still hurt, but most of the bandaging was already unnecessary. Any pain you could possibly still feel was brushed aside.
Maybe you chose the wrong island. Maybe they’d sail past it and you’d lose the track. Maybe they were already way too far for you to reach them, and you had to report back to the main house before the situation got too suspicious. There were a million possibilities.
Or maybe– maybe you’d actually find him, but he wouldn’t care? What if he forgot about you? He had a bad memory.What if meeting you would be an inconvenience? He had his crew and his ship to take care of, after all… and you never agreed on a certain place or time to meet. Maybe you’d slow him down. Maybe he’d rather meet you in a different place at a different time.
This simple thought was torturous. After everything you had endured… if he acted nonchalant, if he simply didn’t remember – it’d break you in half more than anything grandfather or Crowley ever did. What would you even do? Well, you had your plan of running away before the wedding could happen, but what about after that? What would even be the point of–
An explosion.
It shook the floor. Made the people on the street look around in confusion.
A presence.
A presence. A presence. A presence at East.
A presence you hadn’t felt in over three years.
Adrenaline pumped through your veins.
You jumped over the roof of the nearest building, spotting a cloud of smoke in the distance. The noises of a fight… shots? Screams?
That presence that presence that presence–
You ran.
Jumping from roof to roof, getting closer to the source of that commotion. Soon, you saw Marine soldiers running down there on the street, carrying their guns. You’d seen a Marine ship docked past night… they yelled orders, following someone. You jumped to the bell tower of a church nearby, trying to get a better view–
And you saw it.
The top of a familiar straw hat.
Down there, running in zig zag to mislead the troop that chased him.
At that moment, it was like the world bloomed with colors again, its starting point being the red of his shirt.
Your fists tightened, and they were shaking. It was like your soul was shaking at that moment. You gathered all the air in your lungs for what you were about to say.
“Luffy!!”
Your voice echoed in the bell tower, equalizing its sound to the entire square down there.
You watched as he skidded on the stone floor, suddenly stopping on his tracks, one hand over the hat to keep it in place. The troopers were getting closer. And yet, he took his time to look around frantically with a frown.
You saw the exact moment he spotted you. The single second of apprehension that followed.
You saw, from that distance, the moment his face brightened up with a grin.
You saw him ignore the troopers and make the opposite way, jumping over their heads and landing on a nearby roof. You heard the familiar sound of his arm stretching, gripping around the pillar of the bell tower so he could propel himself like a cannonball. And you heard his laughter from that distance – his loud, boisterous laughter that sounded a bit different, but also the same.
“Wolfie!!”
He was still mid air when his arms wrapped around you.
And maybe it was a bit cheesy how the doves resting on the tower got scared and flew away the moment you hugged him back, engulfing you in a mess of white feathers. Maybe it was a bit cheesy how the bell rang, loud and clear, indicating the midday, at that exact moment. Yeah, it was totally cheesy how the troopers shots sounded like fireworks in the back of your head.
But it didn’t matter, because it was Luffy, it was him, and he was hugging you, and you were hugging him, and he was warm, and he was giggling with his face on your shoulder, and you were giggling back.
Three years of pain, of loneliness, of creating a tougher persona; it all dissolved in three seconds.
The wait was over.

A/N: I LOVE CLIFFHANGERS :D
One Piece's canon timeline is pretty insane. Romance Dawn to Alabasta happens in the span of like a month, and it'd be pretty impossible for anyone to travel from the New World to Paradise this fast, unless they were right by the Red Line. SO! For the sake of fic making sense, we'll pretend that all these events took a few months to happen, so our girl actually has the beliavable time to travel this far!
Reader is supposed to be Luffy's opposite in many ways, and that includes fashion. I like the idea that she dresses all preppy and doll-like in contrast to his more laid back, nonchalant style. That being said, not to be too Wattpad-y, but I imagine this is how she dresses most of the time (also bc she's inspired by Gogo Yubari lol). You can ignore it if you don't like it tho
If you read this far, please don't forget to leave a comment!! Your comments always brighten up my day. I'm so exicted to the following chapters!!! See you <3

Hey, Tasha!
I'm the anon who requested the ideal types and the Corazon fluff (I have made many more requests than I usually do on other blogs so now I don't even know what to say to get you to identify me anymore lol)
Well since it looks like I'll keep making requests, I feel it necessary to apologize if my English is weird sometimes. I'm actually just an alien trying to learn human languages 👽 and that's also the reason why my requests are usually so vague 😔🤚
Anyway, my ask today is: What do you think about the Straw Hats' love languages?
Hello anon (✿◡‿◡)
Well, if you want an identifying trait, you can choose any emoji you like and I'll create a tag for you :D Love to see so many anons return to me time and time again, means I'm doing something right LOL (and I love those requests! So don't worry about sending them in frequently, it's fine and I appreciate it)
Your English is literally perfect, so don't apologise!! Well, it's not like I can be an authority on this either😭 My first language is German, I'm just a bilingual goblin but I hide it pretty well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I hope you like this one and take care~~ ╰(*°▽°*)╯

Love Languages

STRAW HAT EDITION

LUFFY
PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Physical Touch
Luffy loves to wrap himself around your frame like a human scarf. His rubber arms aid him in circling themselves around you multiple times – he just feels so needed when he holds you, and it eases his worries. He’s lost great many things, but he’d never actually want to miss you from his life; that’d be the final blow. He’s so happy that you’re there to reciprocate his hugs, kisses, random cuddles and play off of his silly antics. You’re his safe haven, which means he’s more likely to touch you more enthusiastically; you can feel that grin of his approaching before his arms snap around you, his voice screaming your name soon following suit…
SECONDARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Gift Giving
Now he’s by no means the type to shower you with lavish gifts, but Luffy’s definitely the type to hand you some random shell he’s found at the beach or a cool charm he’s bought at the local market just because he’d think you’d enjoy these things. He’s not one for grand romantic gestures, but those small things do add up over time and your collection of knick-knacks is thus ever-growing. In his mind, he wants to share his life with you, so attaching every positive emotion and unforgettable memory to a little trinket is what sharing is all about. One day, you’ll lay in his arms and reminisce in memories – just because you’re holding a really smooth rock he’s found on Amazon Lily…
Luffy would melt if your primary love language was Physical Touch.
He needs someone who reciprocates his touch just as enthusiastically, someone who’d make him feel secure in his empathetic nature. It will lay his greatest anxieties about abandonment to rest.

ZORO
PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Acts of Service
Zoro always aims to take some weight off your shoulders. You’re his one and only, but he has trouble voicing his thoughts since he’s a firm believer that actions speak louder than words. He doesn’t want to make empty promises; he’s a go-getter so he’s just going to do anything he feels would benefit you. Whether it’s as simply as turning off your alarm clock or as complex and emotionally charged as protecting you in battle – he doesn’t care. In fact, he would lay down his own life to preserve yours if it came down to it. Once Zoro swears loyalty to someone, he’s in it for life and nothing could ever stray him away from his chosen path.
SECONDARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Quality Time
If it wouldn’t be for the entire crew nagging him and forcing him into a community, Zoro would be solitary in nature. He’s autonomous and self-sufficient, always ready to defend his independence and his great ambitions, but he’d throw that instinct away if his friends or partner as much as asked for his presence. Despite his rougher side, he’s incredibly honourable – he is there when he is needed. He believes that your relationship has such a strong foundation because you both keep reinforcing that bond with that undivided attention you give to one another. The gestures aren’t big and excessive, but they’re steady and secure. Everything he does reminds you of the essence of him.
Zoro would melt if your primary love language was Words of Affirmation.
He needs someone who recognises his efforts and put things into words that he’s often too repressed to say. Hearing that you’re proud of him and grateful for his time will feed his soul for weeks.

USOPP
PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Gift Giving
Usopp engages in many endeavours that make him a bit of a MacGyver. His creations may not look like much, but they are incredible pieces of engineering. He often just lounges about in his workshop to think about what to tinker on next… and that’s how you slowly start creeping up in his mind. You’ve become so important to him and he doesn’t have the means to treat you how he thinks you should be treated, which is exactly why you’ll have Usopp gifting you little crafts he’s made that make your life a little easier.
SECONDARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Words of Affirmation
Many people don’t believe him when he’s trying to genuinely express himself, but you had never once doubted him. That alone encourages him so much yet you also appreciate his compliments and words of encouragement? Usopp would seek you out all the time, just to hear your opinion on various things that pertain to him, always offering his own commentary in return, too. Overall, he’s quite good at communicating and finds a healthy way to show you his love in your relationship. Every time, without fail!
Usopp would melt if your primary love language was Quality Time.
Usopp’s always been made to feel like a brazen liar while trying to cope with the loss of two parents. Deep down, his need for community and deep connection is fuelled by the idea that nobody could ever possibly want to be with him. He, who is neither brave nor great but just… Usopp. Your undivided attention on him would startle him. You really want to be with him? He… cannot comprehend it, but he’s grateful.

SANJI
PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Words of Affirmation
Praise and kindness really make Sanji’s whole week – and it means so much more if he can dish it out freely without having someone question his motive for that comment or act suspicious towards him for a mere compliment. As a hopeless romantic, he craves to voice his thoughts and thus makes about three to four love declarations every day, but you don’t even mind. You entertain him with a smile and then you brush a hand through his blond locks, looking at him with a shine in your eyes that makes him blush…
SECONDARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Acts of Service
Sanji naturally takes care of others even if it comes from a place of self-pity and insecurity – it is still hard-coded into him to look after his loved ones and make they day-to-day life a little brighter by making everything run a bit more smoothly, but he takes it up an entire notch with you. You are his love, so… you get nothing less than the royal treatment. He’s there at your beck and call to pay you back for the incredible experiences you’ve given him. He’s hopelessly and madly in love with you, so he’s doing it all. From opening doors for you all the way to helping you out in big ways, like swooping in to defend your honour in front of a villain (enemy pirate – he’s dramatic, okay…), Sanji’s willing to do it all.
Sanji would melt if your primary love language was Acts of Service.
He needs someone who would have the same innate desire to watch him enjoy his day and take some of his pain away. He’d actually cry if he was the one getting pampered.

FRANKY
PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Words of Affirmation
Franky truly sees you for who you are and would become your personal hype man if that’s what you wanted and needed from him. He’d ecstatically comment on everything he likes about you and listen to anything you’d say, promptly declaring that you’re super great and that he counts himself lucky to have been able to woo you. This man would swell with pride if anyone asked him whether he was your boyfriend. First of all, he’s happy that anyone noticed. He’s big on PDA, so anything he deems subtle may be quite obvious to most other people, but second of all, he intuitively views you as his equal and wants to include you in every conversation, especially if you’re more reserved than him. Franky would encourage you to commit to it all – wear whatever you want, you’d look super good either way, eat that slice of cake, you want it, don’t you? and, most importantly, of course you’d be welcome in his workshop, he’s been dying to show you this cool thing anyway!
SECONDARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Quality Time
For someone who lives in the fast lane of life, his intellect guarantees a plethora of knowledge and a natural curiosity for the inner workings of the world. He prefers to share his quiet moment with you and dedicate his time to you, uninterrupted and unbothered. Those date nights are usually filled with excitement and leave you laughing for the rest of the night. He’s the life of the party, but you’re his world.
Franky would melt if your primary love language was Gift Giving.
Franky would be happy with anything you give; after all, you used your super awesome brain to associate this cute object with his likeness, so it’s automatically a sweet gesture in his book, ...but those rare, deeply thoughtful moments count the most. They’re tokens of your love and he’d be a fool if he denied that his mechanical heart was overheating at that. He gets emotional.

BROOK
PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Quality Time
Brook, more than anything else, wants to make memories that last a lifetime or two. Your one on one time is absolutely sacred to him – romance is something he’d never thought he’d get to experience ever again; after so much has been taken from him, he truthfully believed that anything he had left was his soul and nobody would want to spend their limited time on this Earth with something as grotesque as him… but you do. You don’t believe that your time is wasted on him at all, so he eventually musters up the courage to take whatever he can get. Brook is so, so close to you, always ready to make time for you, always ready to take you somewhere special and make the experience worthwhile… He’s an artist and his visions for the time you share are as bright and vibrant as his soul; there’s never a moment where you don’t forget the doom and gloom everybody has to deal with sometimes.
SECONDARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Physical Touch
Even though there’s not much softness to him anymore, he loves trailing his fingers over your warm skin and he’s also quite cheeky and lovingly squeezes any of your supple flesh he can find, just to hear you utter a sound of surprise and let your eyes wander towards him. Brook is unbelievably happy to know you don’t mind that he doesn’t have any tissue to cushion the snuggles he loved to hand out unexpectedly. You just roll with it… and it makes him feel so alive and normal.
Brook would melt if your primary love language was Physical Touch.
He would actually let out ugly sobs if you decided to exchange physical contact with him frequently. It fuels the fire that sings for you every day, it is euphoria, it is a renaissance – no, a revelation! Brook wouldn’t have ever thought that someone like you, someone so clearly out of his league, would love him so, so much, but he laps your attention up, always smiling down at you.

JINBE
PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Acts of Service
He knows just how hard life can be; he’s had a lot of life experience and has seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Life has its ups and downs and everybody has their individual background, but he’s always wanted to help you grow past your burdens. He’s a great listener, gives great advice and is just generally helpful, so this is definitely how he’d approach your love life, too.
SECONDARY LOVE LANGUAGE: Words of Affirmation
Jinbe is a natural at empathising with others and affirming their greatest strength. With you, it comes so easily that you don’t even realise that this is him expressing his love sometimes and instead just another part of his personality, but the depth of his words sometimes truly strike you. They’re always profound. It’s not a compliment said in passing just to cheer you up, he wants you to recognise you for who you are and choose the path that’s best for you. Also, he often straightforwardly tells you that he loves you. As someone who doesn’t offer much PDA, Jinbe makes up for it with words that don’t just whisper his affections. He’s proudly declaring those words for anyone to hear.
Jinbe would melt if your primary love language was Quality Time.
He knows that spending time all by yourself is a rather rare occurrence when you’re at sea, but he appreciates your efforts to make it happen so much. It makes him feel wanted and desired in a way he’s never been before and he just has to smile at you whenever you dive deep into his own personal story, wanting to learn more about him – it delights him and he knows that you remember everything, he sees that sparkle in your eyes.

Supernovas x F Reader- They ask you to join their crew
Summary: Post Wano, Kid, Law, and Luffy ask you to join their crew. It is 3 separate stories, on the shorter side.
Warnings: none
Got some Sanji up next since people seemed to like him!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You never planned on teaming up with pirates, or going to Wano, or helping to defeat a Yonko, or really any of the events of the past month and a half, but here you were. Standing in the streets of Onigashima, watching the people of Wano celebrate their new shogun. You saw Kid, Luffy, and Law, celebrating with their crews, and thought back to your journey with them. Now that it was all over, you didn’t know where to go. You had no crew of your own, nowhere you really belonged. Deciding it best to not make things awkward, you turned to leave quietly, accepting your fate as a loner, when you thought you heard a familiar voice call out to you.
Luffy:
Heyyy! Where are you going? We gotta celebrate!” It was Luffy, stopping you in your tracks.
You froze, unsure what he meant. Surely he didn’t mean for you to celebrate with them?
“Don’t just stand there!” He exclaimed. “C’mon!”
He stretched his arm out and grabbed you, pulling you back into the mix. A drink was put in your hand, by who you couldn’t say, and the party carried on.
“You should join my crew!” Luffy exclaimed between bites of meat. “You really kicked ass with us!”
“Surely you don’t mean that?” You gasped. “I’m a nobody. You don’t want me…”
Luffy stopped eating and got a serious look on his face. “Don’t say that. You’re my friend! Of course I want you on my crew!”
You looked to the rest of the crew, who were all nodding in approval.
“Once he’s decided you’re on the crew, that’s it,” Usopp shrugged. “You might as well give in.”
“Please come with us!” Chopper begged. “You’re so nice and you smell like candy!”
“Ok, ok, fine. I’ll come with you all,” you decided.
“Oh how wonderful! I shall make you your favorite foods, my darling!” Sanji gushed.
You laughed along with their antics. You could get used to this.
Law:
You whipped your head back to see who called you, but it didn’t appear to be anyone. Figures. Why would they want you to stay?
Slipping through the crowd, you made your way to the outskirts of town, not really sure where you were going. It wasn’t until you were just past the city borders that someone else called out to you. This time when you looked, you saw Law chasing after you.
“Where are you going?” He asked sternly.
“I… don’t know yet. Still figuring that out.” You answered nervously.
“Why leave so soon?” He asked.
“Why stay?” You answered coolly.
He didn’t have an answer for a moment, instead looking at you like he was deep in thought.
“You could stay,” he finally replied. “With me. And my crew.”
You were taken aback, certainly not expecting this. “Why?” You whispered.
“I like you,” he said after a pause. “You’re calm and levelheaded, unlike a lot of my crew. I could use someone like you.”
“Do you mean it?” You asked.
“I didn’t follow you to the edge of town for nothing,” he answered.
You thought it over for a minute. Being a pirate, having a home, and friends, it sounded nice.
“Ok,” you decided. “I’ll stay.”
You could have sworn the corners of his mouth turned up into a smile, but it didn’t last long. He led you back to the rest of the group, and they cheered upon seeing your return.
“You came back!” Bepo wailed. “I missed you!”
“I wasn’t even gone an hour,” you explained.
“Still,” he sniffled.
“Don’t worry, I’m here to stay,” you said, and comforted him with a hug. As the rest of the crew rallied around you, you felt a warmth spreading in your chest. You could get used to this.
Kid:
You turned around to see Eustass Kid marching towards you.
“Just where the hell do you think you’re going?” He spat.
“I… um… I don’t know. Somewhere.” You answered.
“So that’s it huh? You kick ass with my crew and now you’re just gonna bounce?” He asked.
“I didn’t know… you wanted me to stay…” you replied softly.
He laughed at that response. “We’re all here celebrating, why wouldn’t you be included? Couldn’t do it without you.”
He led you back to the party and that was that.
Later, as everybody was packing up their ships, you stood idly by and watched.
“Don’t just stand there!” Kid barked. “Help load up the ship, we gotta get going!”
“Why would I-?” You started, but he quickly cut you off.
“I already told you that you’re staying, so hurry up and let’s go.” He interrupted.
“Oh, uh ok. I mean, yes captain?” You stammered.
“Lighten up,” Wire said as he passed by you.
“I’ll try,” you said.
As the ship embarked, you sat around with your new family, laughing and telling stories. Kid wasn’t so bad once you got to know him. You could get used to this.
The loser has to fall, it's simple and it's plain. Pt 9
!!!WHOLE CAKE ISLAND SPOILERS!!!
Word count- 8.5k
Masterlist Pt.8
A/N- I've been slacking, but there's a family matter happening. It's been pretty distracting when I try to write. But on the days I was feeling okay enough to write. I put together what I could. I also wanted to give Sanji his justice a little in this chapter because the last time I wrote about my man was in like part 2. FREEE MEEEE I NEED SANJI. But I also wanted to keep the fight mostly between Luffy and Sanji, because of course. I hope yall enjoy sorry for the hold up
Straw Hat reader. Strawhats x reader, Luffy x reader, Sanji x reader
Warning- SLOWPACED, angst
!!!Sorry for any grammar errors!!!
Dragging a tied-up Carrot behind you as you near the large head stuck in the ground. Sanji is thrown over your shoulder, squirming.
Feeling a tongue drag across your cheek. Dragging saliva on your face
“Gross, Sanji.” You grunt, tossing the blonde off your shoulder into the pile of clones in front of you.
Wiping the drool off your face, you grunt, releasing Carrot and setting them next to your fake crewmates.
Earlier, the group had been searching for Sanji. Running into a talking crocodile taking a bite from a donut bridge.
The forest contained many odd things, including a clone of Luffy, whom he attempted to fight. In the end, the two of you managed to get split up from the rest of the crew.
It didn’t take long for you to realize you two were caught in a trap. Crossing your arms, you shake your head at the pile of your friends.
“Where are they coming from?” You question out loud
“I don’t know, but one has to be real!” Luffy answers, annoyed, getting nowhere in the confusing forest
Grabbing hold of a Pudding clone and a chopper. He quickly shuffles through the clones, picking them up, giving them a shake. Before determining if it was them. The clones all chirp and howl repeatedly
“They seem more like animals,” You grunt, kneeling to help Luffy search the pile of clones.
Flipping over a tied-up clone of Nami. She plops onto her back.
“Sorry, Nami.” You murmur to the clone, beginning to move to the Sanji clone beside her
“UNTIE ME NOW!” Nami’s voice rings loudly.
Freezing in place, a shiver ran down your spine as realization set in your stomach.
Nervously smiling, you turn to the navigator, whom you just moved to the side. This was the real Nami for sure.
“THIS ONE'S TALKING LIKE THE REAL NAMI!” Luffy yelps, stumbling back. Astonished at the girl on the floor
“THAT IS HER!” You shout at the oblivious captain. Leaning over, you work at untying the rope.
“I’m so sorry, Nami!” You apologize quickly, helping the girl to her feet
“How did you even get tied up?” Luffy questions confused
“I was searching everywhere for you two! LUFFY TIED ME UP! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, HUH?” Nami scolds us for landing a punch on our captain's head
Her head snapping to you made you stiffen up. Scared you were next, Luffy on his knees behind the navigator. You gulp as her eyes move past you to the pile of clones.
“This is pretty bizarre. She certainly does look like me.” Nami comments, grabbing her clone, who hoots like an owl.
“I noticed they all act like animals. Whoever set up this trap lured us in with them.” You explain to Nami.
The navigator rises to her feet, turning around to face the large man stuck in the ground. His head is sticking out, his dusty pink hair complementing his skin tone. He sure is interesting-looking.
“TELL US WHAT YOU KNOW! YOU’VE BEEN HERE THE ENTIRE TIME! EVEN WHEN THAT LADY ASSAULTED ME AND MY FRIENDS”, Nami shouts, pointing an accusing finger at the man.
You turn, completely forgetting about the man who had been there the entire time.
“I didn’t see anything,” He defends, closing his eyes shut.
“You're lying. Tell us what’s going on.” You push, glaring at the man
“Hold on, someone was after you, Nami?” Luffy interrupts. As everybody now focuses on the woman
“Yeah! It was you, Luffy! Well, technically, it was a fake you. But we tried to escape the forest with him!” Nami continues on about how the fake Luffy turned into a creepy, gigantic woman.
The lady was Brulee, a daughter of Big Mom. The woman attacked the trio, catching Chopper and Carrot in a mirror.
Due to her eating the Mirror-Mirror fruit. Brulee herself also confirmed that Big Mom knew of our presence in her territory this whole time.
“I ran searching for you guys everywhere, until darkness fell over the forest.” Nami ends.
Everything she described sounded like hell. Talking trees, never-ending circles. It wasn’t as bad as what you and Luffy experienced.
“Sorry, we split up, Nami.” You apologize, patting the woman's shoulder.
“But we’re together now! Alrighty then! It’s time to rescue Chopper and Carrot! Where are they?” Luffy announces
“Everything happened right here. But now no one’s around. Which is why I want answers.” Nami replies, turning back to the man on the ground
After attempting to pry something from the man, he answers Luffy's question about the talking trees. Which led to the man explaining the life tax that citizens of Totto land have to pay.
Taking some of their soul, which gets put into objects like food, trees, and flowers. Calling those new living objects, Homies. Though it couldn’t be put into somebody else
“So then what’s up with these guys?” You say, glancing back at the clones still trying to break free from their ropes.
“That would be Brulee’s ability.” The man answers
“Why didn’t you tell us before? You’ve been watching this whole time!” Luffy scolds, yanking the man's face
“I didn’t want to get myself involved!” He cries back to your captain
“Why are you even out here?!” You wince at the man's answers
“ANSWER HER! SAY IT! OR ELSE, NO JUICE FOR YOU!” Luffy threatens by getting up close to the man's face
“OKAY! I’LL TELL YOU EVERYTHING!” The man pleads, shaking his head. Luffy jumps down beside you and Nami. Staring back at the man
“Just spit it out already!” Luffy orders. Hands on his hips as we watch the man visibly sweat before he even opens his mouth
“Don't hurt me. A very long time ago, Big Mom and I, or Charlotte Linlin and I, were….once married as husband and wife!” He cries
A shocked gasp leaves you as you stare up at the guy. Feeling yourself stifling up slightly with laughter. It was pretty funny to imagine Big Mom banishing one of her exes. What an evil woman, but she must’ve had a reason
“So you and Big Mom were…” Luffy trails off in disbelief
“...really a married couple.” Nami finishes his sentence
“What did you even do?” You say, a smile spreads across your face at the idea.
“Nothing. We had two daughters together, but sadly, after they were born, she broke it off with me. It isn’t like the homies are my friends, rather I’m beneath them.” He sniffles, making you suddenly feel terrible for even laughing at his state.
Before you could open your mouth to speak, thudding footsteps approached. As you peered up behind the large head on the ground
“What now?” Nami grunts
A large soldier appears from behind the man. Easily made his way through the trees of the dense forest. He seemed to be made out of some form of cookie.
The warrior's hand wrapped around the pink hair of the man in the ground. Pulling harshly as the man is released from beneath the ground.
A gasp leaves you and your crew at the sight of the brutality shown. The soldier did not care whether he hurt the man in the ground or not.
“Have you gone mad, you think we wouldn't have noticed that you’ve been spilling info to the enemy. You insufferable fool!” The soldier spits, holding the man with a larger head
The pink-haired man pleads to at least see his daughter. And he would be no more trouble. The man goes on mentioning his daughter, Lola, running off to sea. The name rang a bell in your head.
“It can’t be.” You mutter, turning to Nami
“Everything makes sense. Lola told us her mom was a pirate. So it was Big Mom?” Nami gasped, catching Luffy's attention now, too. The two men continue to argue as we put the pieces together.
“So he’s Lola’s dad!” You say, observing the man. And from his hair, you could see the resemblance.
“Those two are back? It's the bird and rabbit guy!” Luffy points out, turning, you see them flying toward the group. As it nears, a sudden presence takes over.
It radiated from the cracker soldier holding Lola’s dad. The Homies surrounding us shrieked as they dried up. Shrinking, as their soul was drained from them. The effect is also taking hold on the bird and rabbit as they crash into the ground.
“Wait a sec, was that haki?” Luffy questions, stunned at the man's actions
“Well, what else could it be?” Nami answers, eyes widen
The crane and rabbit stand getting scolded by the cracker soldier for trying to attack out of order. When a big white tree comes crashing through with a mustache, a lady is upon its branches.
“It’s her!” Nami points out
“That’s the lady?” You reply, taking in the lady's appearance. Feeling a sudden rush of protectiveness for the girl
Everything in this forest sure was creepy, but you needed to keep an eye on one of the main targets. That evil woman had your friends trapped in a different dimension. Big Mom’s crew argues slightly about orders for a moment.
Before Brulee pulls out a mirror showing us Carrot and Chopper inside it.
“I got these fools right where I want ‘em!” Her grin widens as she throws the mirror toward the floor roughly.
As the glass shattered, you and your crew sat shocked. Failing to catch the mirror, the two appear in the broken shards, scattering the floor.
“We're fine! It was only the mirror that broke!” Chopper's voice comes through the mirror. Reassuring their safety, Chopper explains his plan and our advantage, even with him in the mirror world.
Luffy stands, making your eyes rise from the floor. Seeing the cracker soldier spinning his swords, ready to behead the man in his grasp.
In a second, your captain is blocking the sword. Kicking the hand holding Lola's dad, causing him to release and fall to the ground. Landing with a thud
You hurry over, with Nami following. Crouching down by the man, you attempt to shake the man.
“Get up! We've got to go!” You grunt, looking over your shoulder at your captain getting ready to go face to face with this soldier guy
“Come on! It’s not safe here!” Nami rushes as the larger man stands to hit his feet. Following behind us as we try to flee far from the fight. Brulee chased quickly with her large tree.
Nami, beside you, digs through her top.
“Need help?” You joke, glancing toward the girl as you both pant, running
“Funny.” She huffs, still trying to find something.
“Here we go!” Nami smiles, pulling out a piece of paper
“Who knew it would be this handy!” You smile slowly to stop. All the homies had stopped chasing after, frozen in their place. Staring back at us in shock. Fear all over their faces.
“Just look at them!” Nami grins, pointing the card in the homie's direction. Causing them to shriek in fear
The giant lady scolds the frightened Homies. The Homies were able to sense Big Mom’s soul from the vivre card. Giving us the higher advantage
A gust of wind brushes past you, as Luffy tumbles by, crashing into a tree. Falling to the ground with a grunt. The impact of Luffy’s body cuts the tree in half.
“Whoa! Luffy!” Nami gasp
“You okay?” You question, looking over at the boy. He pants, regaining his strength. As the cracker's loud footsteps approach, you peel your eyes away from your captain.
“He grew arms?” Nami points out, the two new additions
“I am the Biscuit Knight, Cracker. One of Big Mom’s Sweet 3 Generals. You shall learn to respect, thousand armed cracker, Straw Hat!” Crackers announces
Tapping his body, as he demonstrates with a single tap, he grows an arm. And even more legs. Luffy attempts to break through the man's tough crackers' shields. The taller man pushes the boy away, sending him flying, landing in front of us.
“Let’s just go, Luffy! We've got to find Sanji!” You tell Luffy
“Yeah! We don’t need a whole fight happening!” Nami backs you up
In no time, your captain was back on his feet.
“LET’S GO! THIRD GEAR!” Luffy shouts, biting his thumb as he inflates his first
Hardening the outside with armor haki. He sends it straight toward General Cracker. As their fight continues, Luffy ends up getting thrown into the forest once more.
Hearing trees snap in the distance as your captain’s body collides with them.
“Even Luffy’s having a hard time!” Nami says, voice cracking
Turning, you see her widened eyes. Her frame was tense. You could tell how scared she truly was being here. But she still put herself through this despite being uncomfortable.
“Get up!” Nami shouts to Luffy as he lies on the floor.
With Crackers approaching. The navigator runs ahead, trying to reach Luffy. Only to be blocked by a large tree branch.
“Not so fast, little missy! I’m still here, remember?” Brulee laughs out at Nami
“I’ve seen countless faces of you underlings, spouting nonsense about your captain going to be the King Of The Pirates. You know how that story ends? In despair! You all go against Mama and wind up learning the same lesson!” The lady grins
Listing names that were familiar enough to you. Captain Kidd, Apoo, and Bege as he took Sanji on behalf of Big Mom.
She explains the story of one of your fellow worst generations, Urouge. He stands out as he puts up a strong fight and takes down one of Big Mom’s Sweet Three.
“She sent Brother Cracker to finish the job! Your friend has nowhere to run! I imagine he must be taking his last breath now.” Brulee taunts using her Devil Fruit power to create a mirror. Tossing it down in front of Nami
Glancing down at the mirror, Nami takes a step closer. The creepy lady is now gone from her spot on the tree. Seeing Nami eyeing the mirror, you grab her shoulder, trying to pull her away from the object.
Nami suddenly yelps, backing away from the mirror on the floor, knocking into you as you both crash to the ground. As she landed between your legs, your back hit the solid ground. You quickly propped yourself on your elbows.
“YOU WANNA FIGHT AN EMPEROR! YOU WON’T EVEN GET CLOSE TO MAMA!” Brulee shouts, popping out from the mirror. Yanking on Nami’s ankle
“HELP ME!” Nami cries, trying to kick the woman off
Shuffling out from underneath the girl, you could feel the dirt drag under you as you got free from under her.
Quickly pushing off your hands as you stand. Wasting no time, landing a solid kick to Brulee's face. Earning a loud yelp as her head flies to the side from the force.
As she releases Nami, you wrap your arms around the navigator's torso. Lifting her away from the woman as she lowers into the mirror. Not recovering just yet from your kick.
“Thank you!” Nami sighs, turning to latch onto you.
She stumbles slightly as she hugs you. You only smile, accepting her hug as she pulls away. Both turning, hearing approaching footsteps, and seeing Lola’s dad.
“She’ll be back. Her ability lets her appear in any mirror.” He warns
“I thought so.” You mutter, looking back at the mirror on the floor
“So you're in pretty big trouble, too?” You question, looking back at the taller man. Crossing your arms over your chest
“Apparently, Cracker was told to kill me by none other than Linlin.” He whimpers before his eyes widen
“By chance, are you one of Lola’s friends?” He questions, as you and Nami nod, smiling
“Nami and her got along great back when we met her.” You reply, hoping to reassure the worrying father. He seemed to only want the best for his daughters, even if it caused harm to himself.
“Ah-ha!” Nami smirks, pulling out Big Mom's Vivre card once more. Making the Homies around us shriek in fear.
The navigator turns to the Homies with a sinister smirk across her face.
“You all go and help Luffy!” Nami orders
“COULD YOU GO ANY FASTER ?!” Nami shouts from beside you at Kingbaum, a large talking tree that Nami took under her control. The two of you sit inside his mouth.
“I’m trying!” Kingbaum cries back, running against his will, as we have the advantage with Big Mom’s card
Trees crash to the ground as Kingbuam pushes through the forest. Knocking any obstacles out of his way. Coming to a more open area, you see General Cracker standing over Luffy on the floor.
“HE’S RIGHT THERE!” You point, as Kingbuam charges straight at his higher up. Kicking General Cracker hard before apologizing profusely.
Jumping down from Kingbuam's mouth, landing on the ground
“Y/N?” Luffy's soft voice calls out as you jog over to him. A weak smile on his face as he attempts to lift his head from the floor
“Hey, Luffy. You okay?” You smile at the boy kneeling beside him.
Softly grabbing his arms as you help him sit up. His face was worn out with scratches, scattering his face.
“Yeah, but I need time to recover from Bounce-man. I’m all wiped out.” Luffy's head falls toward your shoulder. Landing gently against you,
“Just ten minutes?” You question, leaning back to see his face.
His dark hair is messy as it falls over his eyes. Luffy only nods lightly in response.
“I gotta go to sleep.” He mutters weakly, clinging to you.
With that, you lean forward slightly. Shoulder making contact with Luffy's stomach as you stood up. Grunting under the weight of the boy, you turn to Nami.
“We need to stall Cracker so Luffy can recover!” You inform her while climbing your way back up into the mouth. Lying Luffy on the tongue
Hearing footsteps stomping against the ground, Nami waves the card in the air.
“That’s our cue! Let’s go!” Nami orders the homies as they carry us away from General Cracker
Kingbuam scurries through the forest shouting nonsense.
“I FEEL SO OAK-SHAMED!” He cries along with the other fleeing Homies
“JUST PICK UP THE PACE!” Nami shouts, peaking her head out of the mouth, grunting as she walks over. You could feel the stress radiating from the woman.
You sit beside Luffy as the ginger woman shouts orders at the homies.
Kingbuams halts suddenly, making you stand from your spot. Walking over to Nami at the edge of the mouth. You glance around, and the other Homies are frozen in place, too.
“Is something wrong?” Nami asked confused
Cries coming from the forest ahead alerted you. As footsteps draw closer, a man appears from the forest.
Arms swinging with every stride, like he wanted his strength to be known. He had purple hair, and for some reason, wore no shirt.
Not that you mind. He certainly had the physique for it.
“GENERAL CRACKER!” The homies beside us shriek.
“No way! That's him?” You whisper to Nami, trying to process our situation.
“It can’t be the same Cracker!” She replies as we examine the man
Kingbuam talks to the man. Discussing why he was helping us in the first place. General Crackers shakes his head in disappointment.
With Kingbuam's response, General Cracker finds his sword. Slicing the top of Kingbuam's head off. Which was technically the branches on top of his head
“This guy's scary!” Namis' shrieks as the man once more turns the surrounding homies into dried corpses
“You surprised? I’m the Sweet 3 General Cracker.” He grins up at us
“Kinda,” You mutter under your breath, turning away from the man's gaze.
Ears perking up to the sound of Nami's weapon extending. You see her getting ready to fight, jumping to the ground.
Following quickly, you land beside her. Forming your sword in your hand, keeping your eyes on General Cracker. Nami, beside you, orders Kingbuam to take Luffy far away.
“Are you seriously about to pick a fight with me?” General Cracker smirks, closing his eyes at the thought. Shaking his head
“What does it look like?” you grunt, tightening your hands around your sword
“Honestly! We are more than beautiful girls, don't take us lightly!” Nami shouts, pointing at the man
“Both of you attacking isn’t very fair.” General Cracker comments.
He knew either way that he was a far stronger fighter, you could see from the grin he wore
“We are pirates, remember,” you reply, raising an eyebrow at the guy. Seriously, did he think we would give him an easy time? It's not like he was giving us one.
“THUNDER BREED TEMPO!” Nami doesn’t warn the man about the incoming attack.
Unfair was a game Nami knew well, as she didn’t wait around for the man to attack.
A dark cloud had already formed above the two Cracker warriors he made. Lightning strikes down, as a sweet smell fills the air.
“That’s a cute trick.” Cracker taunts, clapping twice forming two more biscuit soldiers.
While Nami focused on the other two, you decided to take on your own.
With a lift of a finger, vines erupt from the candied floor. Wasting no time as they explored the warrior's bodies.
Tightening around the Cracker exterior as you clenched your hand close. The vines squeeze tightly, making the tough material of the warriors burst from the pressure.
The sweet biscuit pieces fly in different directions. Raising your arms to block the debris from hitting your face.
Lowering your arms, you see the real General Cracker gone from his place.
“You left your back open.” His voice calls from behind, making you duck quickly.
Hearing his sword slash above you
Letting out a yelp, you fall to your hands and knees. Flipping over to your back quickly.
Feet pushing against the ground, scooting away from the man, putting any form of distance between you two.
Looking to your side, you could see Nami still putting up a well enough fight with the biscuit warriors. Seeing her fighting, you pull yourself off the floor.
“You’re strong, but not enough to take me on. Tell me, is that son of Germa that important to you?” Cracker calls out as you stand
Turning to the man, you rest your eyes on him.
“Just fight me.” You grunt, both hands resting on the hilt of your sword
“I don’t get it. You’ll save him or die trying, ridiculous!” Cracker spits
“I don't blame you. Big Mom doesn’t seem like the loving kind for you to even understand.” You reply, glaring back at the man. His face twisted with anger at your words.
“I’ll give you a fight! I’m not fond of pain very much. Though I doubt you leave a scratch,” He growls, beginning to run at you.
“Poor you. We are still getting Sanji back.” You grunt, moving your feet, heading straight for him.
You had lost the fight. Despite being thrown around a little. And definitely earning some bruises in random places. The fight between you and General Cracker was quickly interrupted by Luffy.
Now you and Nami have been watching the two fight all night. They had been going on for a while. Kingbuam carried Nami and you, as the two men continued their endless fight.
Your captain stands tall in front of you. And round because of all the infinite biscuits he ate from General Cracker.
Luffy's black hair now looked pushed back, and his body was black and red. The boy in Gear 4, but the stuffed version, as he calls it
General cracker chargers at Luffy his attack attack charged up. The sword is pointing straight at your Captain.
As he got closer, it was hard to see exactly what was happening with Luffy’s full frame blocking our view.
A bright light burst from around your captain's silhouette. Wind rushes toward you and Nami. Lifting your arms to block the strong gust of wind
“TIME FOR YOU TO FLY!” Luffy shouts
Releasing General Cracker from his stomach. He sends the man flying through his own soldiers. Breaking them before breaking through multiple trees. Fading into the distance
Staring in shock, you and Nami turn to each other. Mouths wide open, eyes practically out of our heads.
Making eye contact with the girl, you break into a smile. Nami does the same.
Both quickly pulling each other into a hug. Jumping up and down, squealing like little girls getting their first sleepover.
“WE WON!” You gasp, hugging the girl
“WE BEAT ONE OF BIG MOM'S TOP FIGHTERS!” she giggles.
From over her shoulder, you see Luffy on the floor, pulling away from the girl quickly, and you move to leave the tree's mouth.
“LUFFY!” You call out as your feet find the floor.
Jogging toward the boy on the floor, still full from his snacking. He huffs, lying on his back.
“I ate a lifetime's worth of biscuits,” Luffy says, lowly panting.
“Yeah, and you won!” You grin at your captain as he slowly shrinks as fourth gear takes energy from his body
“I’m so full,” Luffy smiles from the floor.
Nami, besides you, talks to Lola’s dad, who has been hiding this whole time
“We helped an enemy, and now General Cracker has lost. Everyone in Totto land knows Mama’s vivre card holds tree-mendous power over us Homies. That’s why she doesn’t give them out to just anyone!” Kingbuam cries in defeat
“This is more valuable than I thought!” Nami smiles
“You’re in far more trouble now! You better get out of here before she finds out what you did to her boy!” Pound, Lola’s dad, explains
Breaking down how dangerous Big Mom is since she was able to control the weather. With a thundercloud, Zeus in her left hand. Prometheus, a living sun in her right.
“Both pose a big threat,” you grunt, processing the new information.
“A storm can be big trouble,” Nami sighs.
“She can get as mad as she wants, I don’t care!” Luffy suddenly speaks up
Still lying down, recovering from his fight.
“I’m the one who should be angry here. I still cannot get over what Sanji did. All we got is a dumb note, not why he left!” Luffy exclaims annoyed
“I agree, the note was stupid,” you reply
“We only got here because of Pudding's map, and we’ve lost Pekoms. We should’ve had Sanji by now, but nobody showed up at the shore. We don’t know if it was a trap or if something bad happened to them!” He continues
“I think we walked right into a trap,” you comment.
“No way! Pudding wouldn’t do that!” Nami scolds.
Her hand lifts, pinching your ear.
“Nami!” You cry, grabbing her wrist, trying to get her to release you. After a while, she lets you go.
“I’m just saying we just met the girl! We all fell for it.” You grumble, rubbing your sore ear
“We don’t know what’s happening now. Once Sanji gets married, he’ll be part of Big Mom's crew. That means we gotta get moving!” Luffy grunts, lifting his head off the ground. Though barley with how worn out he was
“Cracker mentioned today that the Vinsmokes were headed to some castle for the ceremony. We might have enough time to stop them!” Nami calls out
“Time isn’t the issue! You need to run away!” Pound interrupts
“Don’t worry, let’s go!” Luffy class from the floor
“Kingbuam should know the way to the castle. Why doesn’t he take us?” You point out, looking toward the tree
“NEIN! I REFUSE!” He declines
Nami quickly pulls out Big Mom's Vivre card, making the tree give in. Following Nami, you both climb your way on top of the Kingbuam’s now flat head.
As Pound lifted Luffy's body from the floor. Lifting him to us as we dragged him along the wood
“Let’s go!” Nami calls out to the tree. As we start into the forest toward Big Mom’s castles
The sound of glass shattering makes you turn toward Nami. Seeing broken shards of mirror scattered in front of her.
The glass has to reflect Chopper and Carrot inside, but both are no longer there.
“It just broke,” Nami says, looking over at you,
“Let’s hope they’ll be okay,” You answer, crossing your legs.
Paying attention to how Luffy's stomach dropped quickly.
“What the? He’s freaking me out!” Nami whines as Luffy snores away, unaware of what his body is doing.
His body returns to normal as he sleeps.
“There are a lot of weird things about him,” you reply, shaking your head. Surprised at how he was suddenly back to normal in the blink of an eye
“Gimme me meat.” Luffy softly calls out in his sleep
“Meat!” Nami repeats as you shake your head at his subconscious.
A smile finds your face at his true desires.
“Hey there, frualines?” Kingbuam’s call catches your attention
Crawling toward the edge beside Nami, you peer down at the tree, curious.
“You got good luck! There they are! That's Germa 66.” Kingbuam continues
Your head flies up. Eyes searching for anything in the open green field. In the distance, a carriage strolls by slowly.
You squint, trying to get a better look. Grunting when it didn't work
“So is Sanji with them?” Luffy's voice comes from behind you
Turning, you see your captain now sitting up, twisting his body to see what we were looking at.
“He has to be.” You reply, facing back to the carriage in the distance
“You're right! Look! I’m going!” Luffy grins, rushing past you as he hops over the edge. No hesitation as he runs across the green grass
“HEY! SANJI!” Luffy calls out to the cook, running fast. Arms thrown up in the air,
“Go with him!” Nami yelps, seeing Luffy gaining more speed
Nodding, you hop down, picking up your pace when you hit the floor. You smile, seeing a familiar shade of blonde.
“SANJI!” You shout a smile, finding your face. Relieved to see the cook in the carriage
“LONG TIME NO SEE! HEY!” Luffy calls out, jumping onto the carriage.
As you get closer, Luffy is flung backward onto the ground. Landing not too far in front of you
“LUFFY!” You gasp, running over to the boy.
Sanji, with his leg raised, stands in the hole of the carriage. The one he created.
“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU, SANJI!” You shout as you stand beside Luffy on the floor.
You could hear Nami scolding him in the background as well.
“Leave my sight, bunch of low-class pirates,” Sanji speaks up.
His words and the look on his face made your throat run dry. They dug deep, driving you mad. It was hard to believe what was coming out of Sanji's mouth.
You felt the urge to cry welling up, but you felt more angry seeing his appearance.
Sanji looked different. Everything about him was different. He looked good, but he wore the same look as his brother now. A cold one with nothing behind it
A white button-up with no wrinkles, a red cape draped around his shoulder. A cigarette was in place between his lips.
Glancing behind him, you see two other guys besides Yonji. One with red hair, the other with blue. No mistake, those were his brothers as well.
They looked like assholes and right now Sanji looked just like one of them.
“Make no mistake, I have always been a Vinsmoke. Which makes me a prince of the Germa kingdom. I kept this all a secret because it would make it harder for you. It's noble for you to come all the way here to get me, but you wasted your time. I’m not leaving. I’ve already forgotten your name.” Sanji continued
“You’re only lying to yourself, Sanji.” You scoff, crossing your arms. Not believing a word coming from his mouth.
“You don’t know anything.” He barks back
“We all know enough to know you wouldn’t have kept them a secret for no reason. Nobody is buying it.” You grunt back
“Don’t worry, Sanji. I’m happy to handle her.” Yonji calls out, pointing a thumb at himself
“Yeah, right.” You argue with the younger guy
“Don’t you dare. These two are mine.” Sanji interrupts, holding up a hand
“Just move Y/N. I’ll send him packing myself.” Sanji instructs stepping down from the carriage.
Making his way through the field.
“What’s going on, Sanji? Why are you acting like this?” You question as he gets closer.
You step closer, meeting him halfway before he reaches Luffy.
“Just leave, there was no point in coming here. I’m not going with you guys. Now move,” Sanji replies, stopping in front of you. A few feet between you
“I don’t know what’s happening, but I hope you’re doing well here. I’m sorry we came.” You mutter
Sanji's stance doesn’t change. He stands tall and firm.
“It feels like I haven’t seen you in forever,” You sigh, taking in his image.
It had been well over 2 weeks since you’d seen the cook. It wasn’t much, but when you see someone every day, it’s easy to grow attached.
Staring at the cook now standing in front of you. Taking a step closer, you wrap your arms around the cook's neck. Pulling him close, squeezing your eyes shut in case he pushed you off.
You felt him tense in your arms. Only holding him for a second before dropping your arms.
Stepping away, you put space between you again. His eyes were wide at your action.
He stood as silent as you had ever seen him. Both getting a moment alone together. Nobody was near enough to hear exactly what was being exchanged.
Not that it was much. The silence between you settles thick. Both knowing well, this might be the last time you see the other.
“You look different. Still handsome as ever, what a lucky bride you have.” You crack a small smile
“Go easy on him, Luffy won’t give up. You know that.” You warn holding eye contact with the cook.
Relishing in any moment you could spare with him.
“You know I can’t do that,” Sanji replies softly
“I know,” you mumble, turning away from the cook. Heading toward Kingbuam, passing Luffy
In the end, you knew you didn’t stand a chance against Sanji. Luffy himself had more of a chance than you to get him back.
Climbing up Kingbuam, you see Nami looking over the edge. A hand reached out for you to grab onto
Assisting you as you climb up. As you reach the top, she quickly pulls you into a hug.
“Is he coming back?” Nami sniffles, she had been crying
“I have no idea.” You mutter, feeling the tears well up in your eyes, hearing the two guys arguing down below.
Putting on a strong front for Sanji was hard. But you didn’t want him to worry if he did end up going through with the marriage.
Pulling away from Nami, you see Sanji's leg surrounded by fire as he kicks Luffy.
Nami, beside you, let’s out a gasp with you.
“SANJI!” You shout
“IS HE ACTUALLY SERIOUS?!” Nami screams beside you
“I think he is.” You reply lowly. It felt like defeat watching your captain fight with the cook.
Everything was going so well for the crew. And suddenly you are here, feeling helpless, watching the two fight.
You and Nami were only onlookers of the fight. Knowing if one of you tried to interrupt, you both would get shut down instantly.
Sitting out, though watching it all happen felt like torture, knowing you couldn’t do much to change his mind. His actions showed he was deep in it enough to fight Luffy.
Sanji landed endless kicks to Luffy. The boy was not budging as he took every one that was thrown at him by the cook.
Luffy had already taken a beating. He sits against crumbled stone, where Sanji had flung him. The captain is still not fighting back.
The cook now skywalks toward the sky. Going higher and higher, his leg coated in a flame. Blazing, ready to strike
“SANJI! DONT DO THIS!” You shout throat drying at the sight of him aiming toward Luffy
You push yourself off your knees, getting ready to help. Feeling Nami’s hand tug on your wrist
“Don’t. There’s nothing we can do. You’ll only get hurt. Sanji wouldn’t want that.” Nami whimpers, tears in her eyes
“He’s gonna kill him!” You cry seeing Sanji heading straight for Luffy
“DON'T HURT LUFFY. WE WILL LEAVE!” Nami shouts at the cook. Her grip is tight on your wrist.
Your pleas never reach the man's ears.
Staring in shock, as Sanji landed the kick on top of Luffy's head. Watching your captain's body go weak, dropping to the floor
“LUFFY!” You yell, yanking your wrist from Nami, jumping down from Kingbuam
Stumbling slightly, hitting the floor, you run over to your captain. Motionless on the ground. Sanji is standing in front of him.
Falling to your knees, you shake Luffy. Trying to make the boy up. His body was bruised heavily, and blood was coming from his mouth.
“I told you to leave,” Sanji mutters.
Snapping your head up at him, you stand up beside Luffy. Eyes beginning to water
“This is stupid, you just hurt someone who wants to help you. You know this is wrong. You knew he wouldn't fight back!” You cry to Sanji, tears in your eyes. He stares with no emotion back at you.
“You’re an idiot. Trying to push us away,” You scoff, wiping your tears. Shaking your head, trying to shake the tears.
Though you cared for him. Sanji's actions still raised anger in you, he had gone too far. But this is what he wanted. He wanted you all to leave, and that hurt you all more.
He nods, turning to walk back to the carriage. And you lower yourself to Luffy's side.
Flipping him over to his back. Brushing his hair from his face. It was thick with his blood covering some strands.. You grimace at the sight.
Nami stomps past you and Luffy on the floor.
“Not so fast, Sanji!” Nami grunts
As the blonde turns, Nami lands a slap across his cheek. You're tense watching the two.
“You’re lucky she’s nice enough not to lay a hand on you. This could hurt a lot more.” Nami says sharply
With her words, Sanji lifts his head and turns to you on the floor. His eyes follow you and Luffy one last time before he turns.
Stepping back into the carriage. You pull your eyes from his figure, turning to Luffy on the floor.
The wheels of the carriage crunch the gravel under them. The sound fades as they continue down the path.
Luffy grunts, opening his eyes slowly. His eyes find yours, seeing your tear-stained face. He grunts, standing up slowly.
“Luffy!” Nami observes him standing
You follow beside him, dragging yourself off the ground. Luffy besides you pants heavily
“COME BACK! SANJI!” Luffy calls the cook
“ALL YOUR EXCUSES SOUNDED SO FAKE! WE AREN’T BELIEVING THEM! I DON’T KNOW WHY YOU SAID THAT CRAP! BUT I KNOW YOU DIDN’T MEAN IT! LIKE WE AREN’T FRIENDS! A COUPLE OF DUMB LIES WON’T MAKE ME GIVE UP ON MY CREW! WHAT’D YOU TAKE ME FOR! I’M NOT STUPID! YOU’RE THE ONE WHO’S HURTING!” Luffy shouts, shoulders rising with every sentence.
The boy beside you is shouting with everything in him.
“It’s over. Luffy, for some reason, Sanji’s done, ‘kay?” Nami tries to calm the boy down
“JUST SHUT UP!” Luffy orders sternly as you and Nami tense up
Luffy's pants are the only thing you can hear as we all watch the carriage get further away.
“WE’RE NOT DONE YET! OUR JOURNEY ISN’T OVER! I’M STAYING RIGHT HERE AND I’M NOT MOVING AN INCH! I’M GONNA KEEP WAITING FOR YOU TO COME BACK! AND IF YOU LEAVE ME HERE, I’LL JUST STARVE TO DEATH! YOU'RE MY CHEF! NO ONE ELSE CAN TAKE YOUR PLACE!” Luffy shouts
Even though his voice was filled with anger, you could feel this was a cry from Luffy. Begging for Sanji not to leave. Luffy was putting everything he had on the table just for Sanji.
Your captain's kind words make tears well up in your eyes. With a harsh tone, he still wanted Sanji to understand how much he cared.
“YOU BETTER COME BACK! YOU HEAR ME! WITHOUT YOU, I’LL NEVER BE KING OF THE PIRATES!” Luffy shouts
His words run deep, tugging on your heart as well. That's a big weight to put on Sanji's shoulders. But you knew the cook knew it as well. Luffy really won’t continue without him.
Silence takes over the field as the carriage is no longer in sight.
Plopping down on the ground, your arms wrap around your knees. Pulling them close to your chin. Resting your head on your arms
Beside you, Luffy flops onto his back, panting heavily still.
Nami's warm hand finds your shoulders as she lowers to her knees beside you. Pulling you into a warm hug
“He’ll come back.” Nami hushes, pulling away from the hug. Brushing your hair from your face. You softly smile, appreciating her comfort, sending her a nod.
Sitting in silence, you stare across the field. Feeling the grass brush against your legs. Huffing, you stare at the smiling hills.
Dazing off in the sunlight, waiting for Sanji to return. The guy is heavy on your thoughts, wondering if he has already made it. The world felt gloomy knowing Sanji was sitting with another girl while you all waited here.
Nami lets out a deep breath after about ten minutes.
“Are you really gonna wait here? We’re right in the middle of enemy territory.” Nami asks Luffy
“I’ll wait,” He pants.
A moment passes between the group. The wind softly passes by, and the grass blades sway.
“Remember what Pound said? The enemy will be coming, Sanji, on the other hand.” Nami trails off, hinting at Sanji not returning
“Sanji will be back! I’ll wait, just like I said!” Luffy shuts down the navigator's attempts
“What about you?” Nami’s voice calls out
Lifting your head from your arms resting on your knees. You turn to the right, meeting Namis' gaze.
“They are definitely on their way right now.” You reply
“Which is why we should go!” Nami encourages
“Luffy's not gonna leave willingly, Nami.” You remind the girl of who our stubborn captain was
The woman huffs, crossing her arms, getting nowhere we either of you.
Thunder rumbling from above catches your attention, along with the navigators.
“That’s weird.” You grunt, staring at the dark clouds forming in the sky. It looked like it was coming from the castle in the center.
“Kingbuam, what's causing all this? It was clear just a second ago!” Nami asks the tree
“It's Mama. Her fury is tremendous!” Kingbaum replies, fear in his eyes, watching the cloud spread across the sky
“Her power is no joke.” You grunt, feeling the wind pick up quickly. Standing up allows you to get a better stance against the force.
“I couldn’t ever create something that big!” Nami shrieks at the storm taking over Whole Cake Island.
The wind pushes roughly against the group as a droplet hits your shoulder. Looking up toward the sky, water droplets hurl toward the ground. The weather is going from Sunny to a thunderstorm almost in an instant.
“This is insane.” You utter holding a hand out as the rain hits your palm
Your dress was beginning to soak up the rain.
“This is syrup. I think” Nami points out, taking a lick of the drops around her mouth.
Facing the sky, closing your eyes as the droplets hit against your face. Mouth open, catching some as you drink the sweet liquid.
Luffy, on the other flipped over onto his stomach. Not wanting a single drop of the sweet rain. You stand beside Nami. Luffy sits crisscrossed on the grass hat on his head. His head down, avoiding the rain that had picked up
“The weather's getting rough.” Nami comments as the wind pushes against our bodies. Clothes rustling in the wind
The air whistles as the rain only pours harder.
“You guys need to go hide,” Luffy speaks up, hands gripping his knees.
“Something the matter?” Nami questions
“We need to go, Nami.” You answer, hands finding her wrist. You could feel something about to happen.
“The enemy is coming,” Luffy warns
And in the distance, you could see a dark shadow forming in the god. It becomes clear as they march onto the field. Lighting striking down.
You and Nami climb your way onto Kingbuam's head for a better look. Turning toward the crowd. The heads all began to merge as they grew closer. Too many for you to even count
“He can't beat them all.” You grunt, staring at the army heading your way
“There are too many!” Nami whimpers at the sight
Luffy slowly pushes himself up from the floor.
“I’M NOT GOING ANYWHERE! JUST GO,” Luffy calls out, standing to his full height. Despite his heavy injuries
The army stops, ready to open fire on us. Kingbuam quickly turns and runs away from the fight.
“HE’S GOING OUT ON A LIMB FOR US!” Kingbuams shouts, heading back toward the forest. Luffy's figure gets smaller as he carries you two away.
“WE CAN’T LEAVE HIM!” You argue, hopping down, getting ready to hit the floor.
Feeling Kingbuam's branchy hand wrap around your body. Holding you in place
“WE MUST NOT FIGHT THEM!” He warns, running away, swinging you around in his hand as he runs
“LET ME GO!” You shout at the tree, slamming your hands down onto the branch. Grunting while failing at releasing yourself
“WE'RE GOING BACK! LET HER GO!” Nami orders Kingbuam to pull out Big Mom’s Vivre card quickly.
The tree lifts his hand, placing you back down beside Nami on top of his head. Turning his direction as we now head toward Luffy fighting against more chess soldiers.
Sword forming in your hands as you prepare yourself for a good fight.
Me avoiding fight scenes 😁
The rain pours throughout the whole island. You and Nami, now cuffed by some weird goo from one of Big Mom’s daughters with pink hair. Fire danced scattered in the field from the fight that had taken place.
Luffy lies face down on the floor. Taking a rough beating with the help of some devil fruit. You had no idea why Luffy couldn’t fight back, not too long ago. It was strange. They had you all beat.
Nami, beside you, is suddenly grabbed from behind. The navigator's hands were trapped together above her head.
The position is vulnerable as a tall woman with dusty blue hair and a large sunhat on top of her head.
The woman's fingers cut through Namis' blouse, right in the center of her chest. Taking the Vivre card out, showing it to the other Big Mom pirates
“The Chess Peacekeepers are homie, which explains why they couldn’t defeat you. It also explains how you all made it out of the seducing woods. Now, how the hell did you get Mama's Vivre card?” The woman with pink hair interrogates
You stand watching the exchange between the Charlotte siblings. Hands stuck together behind your back.
“It has Lola’s name on it,” The woman holding Nami points out, examining the card.
“Our Lola?”
“Did you steal it from her?”
“You mean she’s dead?”
The siblings talk over each other, accusing Nami of hurting the girl.
“Nobody said anything about killing.” You reply, gritting your teeth
“Yeah! She gave it to me, she’s my friend!” Nami answers
“Try telling Mama that!” One of the guys taunts
“Unfortunately, our orders were to bring you back alive. Let’s go.” The other instructs
A buff man walks by Luffy. His hand finds the back of your captain's shirt. Tugging him from the floor.
But Luffy didn’t budge, as you see his hands grip onto the grass underneath him.
The man notices Luffy's resilience, landing a punch on his head. Making you freeze, as you see the guy raise his leg next. Dropping it down onto Luffy's back.
Lifting it once more, before dropping it again. Repeating the action over and over, the more Luffy holds on.
“STOP IT! PLEASE!” You cry out, taking a step forward. Only taking a few steps before your face met the wet ground.
The sticky rain pours down your face, mixing with the tears. You could smell the grass enhanced by the rain. Especially when you were face-first in it
Lifting your head to see over your shoulder. You have her fuchsia pink hair, matching with black points coming from her head.
She glared back at you. Turning back to Luffy, you grunt, squirming in her grasp, trying to get away. Our screams and cries echo throughout the large field as we watch Luffy beat endlessly.
Your hands hang above your head. Nailed in place, though it didn’t hurt. You sit between Nami and Luffy. Jail bars in front of you.
The three of you sit in a large book. Courtesy of one of Big Mom's horrible sons. Rolling your eyes, listening to the man go on and on about his Devil Fruit power
Having the ability to trap anything living in a book. That included whatever Big Mom desired in her collection. Or prisoners, in our case.
Luffy groans slightly beside you, waking up. Knocked unconscious from the multiple beatings
“You're awake.” You call out as he lifts his head to look at you
“Y/N! NAMI!” Luffy's tired eyes widen. His arms stretched when he noticed he was stuck
“You were out for a while, you were beginning to scare us,” Nami says
“Oh yeah, I lost. Okay, I’ll get us out now,” Luffy replies grunting as he pulls at his hands
“Don’t bother Straw Hat. It’s pointless.” Big Mom's son cuts in
“He did this to us.” You grunt, wiggling your arms. Still attempting to get out
“LET US OUT!” Luffy shouts
“Why would I want to do that!” Big Mom's son answers
“You suck! I need to get back what if I miss Sanji!” Luffy grunts as he pulls harder, trying to free himself
“Well, you have fun tearing off your arms. But I assure you, there is no escape from this prison.” The man taunts, grabbing hold of the cover of the book.
Closing the large door. Leaving us inside in the dark. You could hear the family laughing at your crew's failure.
“Their laughing,” Nami says softly, you could hear the defeat.
“This is humiliating,” you grunt into the darkness.
“I’m gonna get us out of here! They’ll regret laughing at my crew!” Luffy chimes in from your right
In the darkness, you could hear his pants and grunts as he kept tugging
“Don’t actually rip off your arms.” You grunt as he continued
“Why not!” Luffy argues
“BECAUSE THAT IS INSANE!” Nami wails at the boy
“Exactly.” You reply
“WE NEED TO GO GET SANJI! Y/N! NAMI! HURRY! RIP YOUR HANDS OFF!” Luffy orders
“HELL NO!” You and Nami shriek in the dark
I feel like it would be easier for me not to color the text. But I also like it, but LORDDD IT TAKES AWHILE. Let me know if y'all like it so I can continue. Because like, what if you all secretly hate it, and i dont know
